Bombing hits BostonMarathon

Whoops, sorry lindz, didn’t see your link. Fast moving thread!

Wish they didn’t have diagram and info about the pressure cooker bombs in the media. I always worry it will encourage more awful copycats. Really don’t want or need that. :(

It is reported that they have a picture of the person who dropped the package and bomb. Some wordings even say they have already identified the person.

On a different topic, a woman has been arrested and charged in the murder of the Texas DA and his wife. I’ll be shocked if it turns out that she did it. Somehow it’s hard to imagine a woman doing this. I wonder whether she is also suspected of killing the other DA?

“Too soon to say they have a suspect” now reported.
And the possible ricin has to be confirmed by the military lab. The quick tests run at the off-site mail center can yield false positives. Or contact with castor beans.

Btw, I’d guess the investigators are looking at the colleges, as well.

“Wish they didn’t have diagram and info about the pressure cooker bombs in the media.”

AQ had already put out a pamphlet entitled “How to Make a Bomb in the Kitchen of Your Mom”. The info was already out there for people looking for it.

I am not sure it is a good thing that the information about the video and identification of the suspect is leaking out so quickly. I wonder if that is planned and done on purpose by the authority. On one hand, you might not want the suspect to know that they are on to the person, OTH, they might want the person to do something out of sort and start running or make some mistakes.

I just heard ( car radio) that there is footage of a young man dropping off a bag and running away that has been captured by Lord and Taylor’s video surveillance cameras. Supposedly clear enough do that if you knew the guy you would recognize him. I hope this is the break in this we are looking for.

NYMomoftwo–Well, the brief online article I just read does indicate that the ex- JP’s wife is being charged with the murder of the DA and his wife and the assistant DA. The husband (who has already been arrested, charged and is in jail) has not been released. So, I guess that they both are involved in all three murders.

You don’t have to actually pull the trigger to fall within that criminal charge. Although, the DA’s wife was only shot once while the DA was shot 20 times. It is not hard to think that the ex-JP and his wife both had weapons and both shot.

10% of US murders are committed by women. We just executed one in Texas a couple of months ago. The ex-JP’s wife is charged with capital murder so she will face possible execution if convicted.

Roshke, I saw a picture and I swear it looked like a thin young woman. Good thing I’m not in law enforcement.

Please share the source of the picture if you could.

Now, it is arrest of the suspect is imminent…

Just saw a series of pictures of two guys - same dress, both talking on cell phones, both big packpacks, similar markings to the remains of the explosives. Pictures of them are very clear. They showed before and after pictures and a picture of one guy taking the backpack off. Pretty amazing analysis work so far.

Putting the info on front pages of newspapers is worse and makes things more accessible than knowing it COULD be searched for and found online. Print newspapers are still widely accessible.

CNN says arrest made.

Now it is reported by CNN that arrest has been made.

Fingers crossed, romani. I just saw the same headline.

Breaking now, no arrest, several “of interest,” source saying all the wording.is confusing
“One man’s’interest’ is another man’s ‘suspect.’”. MSNBC.

Daughter just called from Cambridge to say arrest made. TG.

Would someone mind posting a link to those photos, or at least saying where you saw them?

I hope they have a suspect (or suspects) and, if they do, I hope to God it’s the right person (or persons).
