Books about American Colleges

Can someone recommend me some books about American colleges? Specifically, I mean books that tell you about applying as either an international freshman or transfer. I’m from Canada and the university admission process here is quite different than in the US.

you dont need any books really. just look up this forum for a start, im pretty sure you will find any information you need. if not, feel free to ask right here.

im an international student and i can tell you that those books are useless in the end. it doesnt help much.
search on this forum, us news, princeton review, and from the univs’ webs.

the books suck…go online…use this forum, myUsearch.com, collegeboard.com, princetonreview.com and any other sites that assist in college search

Many people tend to recommend to read through [International Students – EducationUSA](http://www.educationusa.state.gov/)
You can find information about studying in the USA, and each country is supposed to have its regional advising center. I tried to look up Canadian regional center but didn’t have much luck
[About Undergraduate Education in the U.S. – Undergraduate Study – EducationUSA](http://www.educationusa.state.gov/undergrad/about.htm) tells you about undergraduate education, go to “Admissions” and you’ll get all the necessary info on applying.

That, and as people have already said, stay on this forum, here’s plethora of info, too :)

I actually liked reading Princetonreview’s best 365 colleges.

If you really want to read these books(Princeton review, kaplan, guide to US colleges)then you don’t have to buy them! I had access to these books at the education center of the US Embassy in my country. I lived about 10 minutes from it so I went there as many times I could. However the best source of information is internet.

Books? Heck, you don’t need them. You’re browsing the best resource available to prospective applicants.
