Hi…I have read that one student has been notified of her finalist status for the Gabelli Presidential Scholarship. The website says two conflicting dates: middle of January and February 1. Has anyone else received notification? Shall we assume if we have not heard anything, it’s a no go?

I think there was an email sent out that all finalists were notified already in early January.

Did anyone else get an email the other day saying “Your Boston College Application is Complete?”

Yes, my son did.

Do you have any idea what it means? Are they releasing decisions soon?

Based on other schools, my son thinks it means they have finalized a decision on that person. I have no idea if it means they will release decisions before their stated date.

Does BC usually release decisions before April 1st or is it it day of?

Last year they released on Thursday, March 23 @6 pm

Any reason to to think it will be a Thursday again this year?

Last year ED1, ED2 and RD were all released on Thursdays. Im not sure if it’s been the same this year?

My guess is Thursday, March 21st

Both EDI and EDII this year were released on Tuesdays, so I’m speculating the Tues before Ivy Day, so 3/26. Could also be 3/19, but my guess is BC would release same week as Ivies.

Why wouldn’t they release the same week as Ivies? Why do we think they have given the slightest thought to when Ivies release?

Well, it does seem like many schools do pay attention to Ivy Day and make an effort to at least release prior to that. Maybe that’s just because Ivy Day is so late.

But I have no idea whether they would want or not want to be in the same week–but they may well want to be before that day.

I don’t think that the BC release date will have any relation whatsoever to the Ivy release date.

I just called BC and confirmed that RD notifications will be going out the evening of 3/21
