Are the decisions out? Good luck everyone!
You cannot reapply in ED2. Can send LOCI and then have to wait until RD comes out.
The only merit scholarships BC offers are the Gabelli Presidential ones, I think in January. (Need-based financial aid is a separate matter.)
Yes, I got deferred too so I’m also interested
My DD was deferred.
Admitted to MCAS ED1. 1470 SAT, 3.95 GPA, 6 APs upon graduation. Mid-ECs. Legacy. Solid essays and LORs.
Accepted MCAS. High GPA 8 APs, tons of service and extra curriculars, legacy.
Just got accepted to Lynch school of Education & Human Development. I’m so excited!!! Congrats to everyone
My son was accepted ED1! I have been lurking but reading your helpful comments on this thread so far so thank you all. His stats, if helpful: MCAS admit, Asian from CA, agnostic, 1540 SAT 3.8/4.0, OK ECs, very solid essays, LORs solid.
My DD was deferred. I thought it was interesting that the letter said they will be looking at any updated fall qtr grades as part of the evaluation for RD pool. Is that standard year over year? She hit a 4.0 this past qtr in 5 honors (no APs in our school) so I guess that helps. My DD now has 3.98 w gpa, decent ECs with leadership and service, private school, but went test optional. Assuming strong essay and LoRs.
Accepted MCAS, Asian, Agnostic, 3.98 GPA, 1530 SAT, 11 APs, lots of ECs, good leadership/national awards, good LORs and I assume good essays, child of faculty.
I think it’s expected they will look at fall grades when the evaluate you with RD. They look at fall grades for RD applicants too. Sounds like her fall grades will help too! Good luck!
Child was accepted - congratulations to those accepted and good luck to all who were deferred!
Congrats, @simsmom2! Wanna share the stats?
Congrats, @kelizabeth221! Wanna share the stats?
Test optional, 4.0 UW, strong leadership and extra-curriculars, 4 years of housing.
1450 (test optional), ECs were my strongest aspect of my application, 3.95 gpa, 10 APs, good essays, good recs, a few solid honors, no legacy
But you can apply ED2 elsewhere. My daughter stayed in regular decision for BC when deferred last year, but decided to ED2 her next top choice. She wasn’t going to retake SAT’s and her grades which were already 100’s were going to stay 100’s so she gambled and said I am not getting into BC or I would already have. In the end it paid off, she was waitlisted BC but got into her ED2 with good scholarship. They waitlist THOUSANDS, it’s really a polite no I say so she made a good choice. Good luck!
I really do not understand the point of waitlists these days, unless a school truly cannot predict their yield. If you look at the CDS for all of these schools you can clearly see they admitted 0, sometimes a couple from their WL. Makes no sense why they WL so many.
It’s like AYSO, you get a trophy, you get a trophy…just say no, It’s ok. Let kids move on.
