Daughter got rejected. Guess TO wasn’t even competitive at BU. Their loss. Grats to those who got in and it’s their dream school.

Got transfer option. If I accept and them decided not to transfer is that okay?

Were decisions sent in an email? Or did you have to log into the portal? My S24 is at work this morning. TIA

This something the U California system has done for decades, wondering if their version of guarantee is as solid? My daughters letter also suggests contacting them to discuss transfer options, but I don’t see the word guaranteed anywhere.

Check the portal

It should say “For these reasons, you are one of a select group of students to whom we are offering guaranteed admission as a transfer student”

It is called the guaranteed transfer option. I’m in Cali, yes it’s as solid. They must be a full time student for one year at any accredited college, get no less than a C and they can join Sep. 2025 as a sophomore. They don’t have to apply again, it’s a different track completely.

Maybe I’m half asleep and therefore not understanding… but does this mean they want my student to do nothing for Fall 2024? Thoughts?

Congratulations! On behalf of the Board of Admissions, I’m excited to welcome you to the Boston University Class of 2028. You have been admitted to the College of General Studies.

Your experience will begin in January 2025 with a semester in Boston, followed by a six-week summer term in either London or New England. You will join a community of approximately 600 students, who will come to BU to learn in a rigorous, interdisciplinary program from award-winning faculty. This unique curriculum integrates challenging coursework in the US and abroad and provides you with global perspectives in and outside of the classroom. In the fall of 2025, you will continue in CGS as a sophomore and then complete your studies in your junior and senior years in the Faculty of Computing & Data Sciences or one of our other undergraduate schools or colleges.

Scroll down for information on what the student can do this fall.

Yes, a gap semester in the Fall.

This option was an opt in on the application, so the student must have checked they were willing to be considered for CGS in the application

Not necessarily. Some students are just offered CGS without checking the box.

D accepted! TRUSTEE SCHOLARSHIP! :tada::face_holding_back_tears:

Waitlisted. Said “short unweighted waitlist” for drama. Are all waitlists “short”?
