Boston University Class of 2028 Official Thread

I think it’s usually in the morning, but they haven’t officially said when.

D24 also has a blank checkbox with tick - yes guess it’s linked to admission news….

looks like we are odd man out…

That analysis would make me happy as we saw the blank check really early but it could be rejected, accepted, waitlist. It could be by assigned student number who knows. End of the day sometime Saturday we will all know.

I’m sure it will come. Everyone has to get a decision.

No checkmark for my son either

Yeah it’s weird every portal doesn’t have it but it seems that most people who have responded in this thread have it. I’m anticipating my daughter to get waitlisted. Seems like we can’t escape that lately.

Hey! Just got back my BC decision. Based on past experience, is getting waitlisted at BC indicative of a negative result at BU? I’d appreciate any feedback. Thanks!!

Did all the people with check marks submit test scores?

My son submitted scores but definitely others on this thread did not and still have the check mark.

Ha, I briefly had a “More” tab next to Upload History but it disappeared as soon as I clicked on it. Guess there is general backend stuff going on…

Actually it is back now…

I would not anticipate any negative BU response because of BC. Both Boston schools but I believe very different in their selection process and academic profile. BC has no big engineering if that’s your major. Keep the faith!

Zero correlation.

wait everyone is making me nervous. Do we think the blank check mark actually does mean something?

My daughter still doesn’t have the check mark either

I believe it means more than just the person got a decision because my daughter still doesn’t have it. Makes sense the auto rejects don’t have it and the accepted kids with different merit amounts are the blank boxes. Idk but seems suspect.

I feel the opposite. Looks like 80% have the checkbox. It doesn’t make any sense that most ppl got accepted or waitlisted. Those 20% are more promising IMO.

Unless, most ppl in this forum are more qualified candidates (say top 33% in the whole application pool)

Idk seems like most people on here have very top student kids and have some idea of the college process. My daughter keeps getting nothing but deferred or waitlisted so maybe my vibe is just pessimistic atm.

My bad experience came from UPenn ED. On a week also before releasing, 9 out of 10 ppl saw a portal change … but it turned out to be all the rejections for them.

Anyway, we will know tomorrow. The pain is almost over. Hang in there.

With the acceptance rate at about 19% it would seem either this forum is loaded with top students or too many have gotten the Checkmark for it to indicate acceptance. I would not read into it at all. You will only stress out more.

Our son does have great stats and as of last night has gotten in UVA, Wisconsin-Madison, VT, OSU, PSU, Colorado, UConn, and UMass. He has received merit awards at several of those schools. With that said in this process nothing is certain. I have seen friends I thought were sure things get waitlisted or rejected. It all depends on the admissions team, the major you are pursuing, and several other factors.

We have the check mark but in my honest opinion it means nothing. This is our first time through the process (my oldest son) it has been extremely stressful. Good luck to all of you! We will know tomorrow.
