Looks like 1560+ SAT means BU is going to waitlist you…. n of 3 but still
My daughter said she didn’t get an email yet from BU, is that possible?
Please check the admissions portal directly; then your kid’s spam/ junk folder.
Our daughter’s friend did that.
One thing to note is the curriculum in those first two years is rigid from what the dad told me.
accepted! but with like zero help financially unfortunately
oh yeah knew BU is not affordable for most, just was hoping to get the scholarship I applied for
Same thing for my S25. So unfortunate for you and for my son too. It’s a very pricey school!
We never got an email from BU last year! And my daughter thought she had withdrawn her app and had never been on the portal. It was only when we got a letter from the international program option that we ended up going in to set up her portal and found out that she had been offered GT.
Check your portal!
I’m so enjoying reading about the acceptances here. We are proud parents of a Boston University graduate, and our student loved his four years there, and got a terrific education.
I wish you all the same excitement and joy our family has for this university!
waitlisted.
trying to understand the guaranteed transfer.
does waitlisted mean that you are not eligible for guaranteed transfer down the line?
Because I see folks posting “rejected with GT”
thank you
A kind reminder that if you find yourself repeating the same talking points, it is time to step away and let others contribute, preferably those with a connection to or experience at the school being discussed since this is an “official” thread. Thank you for your understanding.
I wasn’t aware that the deadline to be considered for merit scholarships was Dec 1? I wish they could have made it the same as the RD deadline. Also, does anyone know the procedure for negotiating financial aid and has it ever worked for anyone at BU?
We received GT last year and the letter is a “rejection” in the sense that they explicitly tell you they cannot offer you a spot this year. It is different than waitlist.
The GT is only offered to a smallish subset of those who are not offered admission or waitlist. If you are waitlisted I have no idea if you can petition to be added to GT but just answering your question that GT is a different decision than waitlist.
This is the first i hear of this! Dec 1?? Wow what a miss.
That is great, but my husband’s brother left BU after a year. He continued to attend, but commuted from home. The drug use among the med school students was intense and awful, as was the drinking/club/euro culture.
What year was this?
