Boston University EARLY ACTION

SAT I BREAKDOWN: (will take in oct 11)

SAT II : M2 640 (Not final score because I will take it again)

Extra curricular activities: no sports but I did take part in science fair and help people build models for their project.

Nationality: Indian

Volunteering: Instead of going out and helping other people, I made a YouTube channel, where I uploaded more than 200+ videos on multifarious subjects to help people like me out. After creating the channel, within just a month, I got my YouTube partnership and donated all the money I received to a charity group to help people out in Africa.

Job/Work Experience: N/A

Summer activities: Volunteering

Major: Astrophysics and Mathematics

Teacher Recommendations: Good.

Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): N/A

AP (place score in parentheses): Didn’t take them yet.

Country (if international applicant): living in Saudi Arabia.
School Type: Private

Gender: Male

Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): Eh not really any.

Strengths: Essays, Teacher Recs. (I’ve already written my essay :P)
Weaknesses: low GPA? Extracurriculars. SAT 2s could’ve been higher. Maybe SAT I?

Would I be accepted in BU with these qualifications? Yes, i have done my research but still I am confused because the deadline for EA is nov. 1 and my sat II’s will be after that so how am I supposed to send the better scores? Or I can’t?

I just want to know do I have a chance to be accepted in BU? yes, I know everyone has a chance even in the Ivy League school but I would like to know if I can be accepted in the BU that’s all.

And SAT I , I’ve been practicing all over the summer so I am hoping to score at least above 2000.

Someone?.. Chance me? Please.

Do you need financial aid? BU does not have any for internationals. If you can get decent test scores, I don’t see why you wouldn’t get into BU.

No, I don’t need financial aid; however, if I can get any that would be great. In any case, ‘decent’ score is a bit too vague when taking under consideration to that we both are talking about the SAT. Can you define what ‘decent’ means? Thanks, @International95 .

On the other note the BU EA deadline is Nov.1 and I have a serious question whether to send 640 on m2 or just email them saying I haven’t got the results yet, but whenever I do I can send it to them? What should I do?

By ‘decent’ I mean around 650 in every section. Is the SAT 2 required? If not, don’t send those scores.

Honestly, if I were you, I wouldn’t spend $60k/year on BU (I checked and it seems that BU does have some aid for internationals, but this seems to be merit aid mostly). It’s just not worth it, IMO. Instead, you could consider Truman State, Univ of Minnesota–Twin Cities, Stony Brook (offers some $$ to ALL internationals), UIUC (selective, but worth looking into), Florida.

There are some LACs that are quite good and offer aid to many intls, despite so-so grades and test scores, like Hendrix.
