My daughter will be. She’s applying to the School of Education, planning to eventually go into early childhood education. GPA is 4.0/4.6, SAT is 1490. Commended Scholar. Two APs junior year, both 5s. She’s currently taking two more this year. All other academics are honors. Four years of English, social studies, and math. Three years of science and five of foreign language. Good extra curriculars (3 sport athlete, orchestra, volunteering, full time summer job working at a camp).

I am!! I’m applying ED to the College of Arts and Sciences, under Poli-Sci. GPA is a 3.3 in all IB Classes. SAT is a 1390, so just on the lower end of the 50% split. I’m an IB diploma candidate, my HLs are in Psychology, English, and Theatre. Honor roll all 4 years, and really proud of my activity list (student government, founding a club, volunteering, theatre all 4 years as well as a full time job working at a summer camp). I’m really looking forward to hearing my decision, I’ve put a lot of work into this whole process and I’m hoping it pays off. Good luck to all other applicants!!!

How long after submitting your application did you get the email to set up your portal? It has been about one week since submission for S25.

My daughter got it within a couple of days.

Thanks. We contacted IT and they fixed it in less than an hour. All good now!

It would be nice if BU followed Villanova’s lead and moved up the ED notification date from 12/15! (Villanova changed from 12/15 to 11/25)

Does anyone else have a blank check on their checklist?

No, but my daughter’s portal is down. I think it’s still too early, but she’s hopeful it means decisions are coming out soon.

Yes, my son’s checklist just added a new line that is blank except for the green checkmark (and “Received” text next to checkmark). It wasn’t there a couple of days ago. When you click on the checkmark, a blank screen appears with the tab titled “Decision Verification.”

Apparently this happened last year as well. No confirmation if it means anything. Someone looked it up with ChatGPT and got the following response: “Decision verification in college admissions typically refers to the process of confirming the accuracy and authenticity of information provided by applicants. This may include verifying academic records, standardized test scores, recommendation letters, and other application components to ensure that the admissions decisions are based on truthful and reliable information. It’s a step taken by colleges to maintain the integrity of their admissions process.”

She might have had it earlier (before access went down), but I’m not asking. She’s already super stressed so I’m just pretending college decisions aren’t even a thing.

My son has the new blank green checkmark also and new “more” tab. I looked at last years BU thread and it goes down a rabbit hole of checking code behind page etc. Not sure I could find anything concrete on meaning outside setting the profile up for a decision as it looked like RG Decisions came out a 3-4 days after this change.

the blank check is gone now, what is happening

My son’s is gone as well. I’m waiting for the portal to intermittently go offline/online before they release the decisions.

Gone for my son as well. Looking at last year’s ED thread, BU decisions came out in 12/14.

My daughter is stressing like crazy this week- the whole “by Dec 15” thing is tough…

BU portal is down again. Hopefully a sign that they’re preparing to release the decisions soon.

So many selective schools with “before Dec 15th” deadlines are releasing ED/REA/EA decisions early, so we’re hoping that BU follows suit with their peers.

could it be today?

As of 3:08 PM EST, the BU portal is still down. Meaning? I am guessing the release will be much sooner than the 15th.

Just spoke with BU AO. Portal is down until 4 pm ET today. ED decisions will come out before 12/15, but she wasn’t allowed to give exact date. I asked, “So sometime later this week?” and she said yes.
