I called, but they say they can’t give me the reasons why I am rejected. I tried to ask is it because I haven’t got my high school diploma yet, and they said it’s not quite the reason and just need to have it before going to BU. (I am getting my high school diploma this june)
They don’t allow appealing and asked me to wait a year before I reapply. BU is my top choices, I love the school, the program, flew there at spring break to visit. I am so frustrated. I got waitlisted at UCLA and Berkeley, schools with a lower admission rate, and I got rejected at BU??? It seems like I messed something up on my common application.
Did u send in professor recommendations. Because usually those can make and break your application. Especially if you did a lot of amazing things and none of your recommendations can bring that forward and back it up that can play a role. The college admission system is weird last year (just finished first year). I was rejected from University of Maryland, but accepted into University of Pittsburgh and waitlisted at JHS. Sometimes it’s very random and the tiniest detail can make or break your application.

im so sorry ab your rejection. college admissions is so random and sometimes they just don’t have spots left, regardless of how qualified you are. don’t be discouraged, ucla and berkley are amazing schools! and sometimes, if you email your regional admissions officer, they’ll allow you to apply after one semester and not a year. that happened to my friend this past spring, she was rejected for spring transfer and got in for fall! good luck:)

I did not send in LOR. My friend (different major) got in on 4/13, his transcripts were late, and didn’t even write the optional essay.

Yes, I got into Graphic Design BFA at BU CFA SVA. I sent in my application like end of January. I am coming from a top 10 state university transferring with a BFA art program and a graphic design focus.
