Botox! Talk me into it or out of it

FDA news release Oct 15, 2010

"FDA approves Botox to treat chronic migraine

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today approved Botox injection (onabotulinumtoxinA) to prevent headaches in adult patients with chronic migraine. Chronic migraine is defined as having a history of migraine and experiencing a headache on most days of the month."

Only reason I can think of for getting any botox injections…

A lot of Botoxers here in my area. I’d do it an instant if I had the cash. Sigh. It’s pricey. Make sure you get fresh stuff and someone who knows what s/he’s doing. If it isn’t done right it can cause some wrinkling and rumpling elsewhere. I’ve seen some bad botox jobs.

Missypie - I love your honesty!

I’ve heard the bangs or Botox theory for years, let’s just day I don’t look good in bangs! I told my doctor if I was angry with my husband I wanted him to know it before I opened my mouth, so no frozen face. I will say a little light Botox on my forehead and a little to raise my brows made me feel better about my appearance. I just did it 3 weeks ago, I went in for a chemical peel and after a very brief discussion switched to Botox. It was less expensive then I expected. Definitely not related to my ridiculously over priced car! I would do it again.

Has anyone tried the filler for the lips? I don’t think I’d consider Botox, but might go for the filler if it works to dispel some of the puckering.

Can’t do bangs - my hair’s so thin and fine I’d have to start the bangs at the back of my head to have something you could call bangs.

What about Botox for underarm sweating? Luckily that’s not for me, but a relative could benefit.

I just went to bangs last fall - should have done that ages ago.

And now, when I’m wearing my sunnies, everyone thinks I’m Anna Wintour.

“What about Botox for underarm sweating?”

Ramona, on RHONY, had that done.

Over30
My daughter (now 18) had underarm Botox every 6 months for about 3 years. It was a great thing till the insurance company decided not to cover it anymore.
She now uses Secret Clinical and it seems to be working well, no complaints about excessive sweating.

Horses sweat, men perspire and women glow. Or so my Grandma told me.

My problem is that botox is expensive and temporary. Dying your hair is temporary, but cheaper.

Botox is not permanent. So you have to keep doing it over and over. Why would you want to?

Of course we want to look our best and look young. But at some point you look ridiculous.

Growing old is natural. Women trying to look 20-39ish that are 45-55-ish look scary usually. They may have had surgery or, in some cases, botox.?

So I ask, why would you want to do this?
