That link plus others linked to it reminded me of how remarkable the filming was. Especially the imaginative camera placements - on the Roomba, on Jessie’s gas can, and all of those shots from the bottom of chemical vats. The last episode seemed to have a lot of shots framed by windows, images shown in mirrors and other objects, notably Walt shown dying via a reflection of the steel meth cooker. The scene in Skylar’s kitchen split in two by the column was also remarkable.

I’ve been “binge”-watching on Netflix (streaming). I’ve watched 4.5 seasons (currently on season 5 episode 7) in less than 2 weeks. I am “hooked” and, at this point, don’t even know if season 6 is available on Netflix yet?

One of the greatest actors of the past 50 years wrote an all-out fan letter to Bryan Cranston, saying “Your performance as Walter White was the best acting I have seen - ever.” Who is anyone to argue?

I think Walt gave the money to Flynn because he saw his son had the ability to do the right thing, to make the right decisions. He watched his son become a man during those last few episodes. Flynn showed that he had a set of morals that he lived by and was not swayed by greed or power. Flynn cursed his dad and wondered why Walt wasn’t dead yet, and Walt loved Flynn even more for sticking to his own set of principles. That’s why I think the money went to him.

On a practical note any trust/money given to Holly, because she is a minor child (under 18), would have had to be administered by a trustee who both invests the money and distributes it to the child’s guardian to use for the child’s benefit.

So who could Walt name to adminster Holly’s trust? Not Skylar. (DEA would be all over that trust in a hot minute. Even if they decided it wasn’t established with profits from the drug trade, there would be extra scrutiny made on any trust transaction.) Certainly not Marie. Not his former partners (who he clearly doesn’t trust). Some anonymous bank officer who may not be sympathetic to the family’s situation and unwilling to release the funds?

The money went to Flynn on his 18th birthday (when he’ll legally be able to manage his own trust) because Walt trusted him to take care of his mother and sister.

Yes, a great clip, and certainly one we all thought about but surely didn’t really want BB to end in that fashion. Or end with a snowglobe (reference to St. Elsewhere finale).

OK… I had to bump this thread back up, because H and I just spent the last four weeks doing the whole series. We started Season 5/Part 2 on Thursday night, watching just the first episode. Truthfully, I cheated… after watching the last episode of Season 5/Part 1 Tuesday night, we both went up to bed and after H fell asleep, I snuck back downstairs and watched Season 5/Part 2, episode 1. So I pretended as if I were seeing that first episode of Part 2 Thursday night. Then we sat down and watched episodes 2-8 last night… holy s’moley… talk about a marathon session!

So I knew today I was going to have to resurrect this thread and read what everyone posted. It’s been very entertaining to see who called which story lines ahead of the fact. But I’ve spent about an hour going though this thread and am only halfway through it. Have to take a break, then read the rest. I want to thank you all for starting this thread and keeping it going during Part 2.

I will never be able to listen to Baby Blue again without thinking of Walter in his final scene!

I watched the entire series in one marathon week this past fall just before the series ended. The DVR was recording, and was threatening to run out of space, so all I did that week was watch episodes and delete to keep ahead of the DVR. It was great fun. I found it hard to tear myself away and return to reality.

Also giving a shout-out to the Emmys for not forgetting “Breaking Bad” when nominations were announced last week. I don’t know how well it will do, given that it’s been a long time since it ended and there are a lot of other great shows and actors out there. But I know what I’ll be rooting for in September.

I love Vince Gilligan. But I do think the Academy messed up by nominating him as director for the final episode, instead of Rian Johnson for “Ozymandias.” I don’t think I’ll ever see a better hour of television that that one.

frazzled, yes I agree about Ozymandias, best TV ever, ever, ever.

As of now, I have no plans to tune in to Better Call Saul. I sort of don’t want to spoil my Breaking Bad memories. It’s kind of like the sequel to Gone With The Wind…I never read it or watched the movie because GWTW was perfection. Same with BB.
