Bringing a bike just for WOW?

I got the email preparing us for WOW. It says we should bring a bike for the bike night. I wasn’t planning to bring a bike, will I be totally alone? Anyone else here not bringing a bike?

my daughter won’t have one. She might try to buy a used one after she gets out there, but I doubt that would happen until after WOW.

I don’t think any wow groups did bike night last year. I’m sure that even if you don’t have a bike you’ll have fun and you won’t be the only one. It would be a bit of a hassle to bring one just for that week.

Usually Bike Night is the first Thursday of the month, if I remember. So, maybe they’ll have a special one just for WOW? With or without a bike, I’m sure you’ll have a good time. I found some videos from past Bike Nights:

Um… I don’t think that there’s an actual ‘bike happening’ during wow. They always happen the first Thursday of every month, after Farmers.

Thanks guys!

They are doing something new this year at WOW. They are having a bike event in the evening where students can ride around the campus at night. It was on the WOW tentative schedule. My son will be bringing a bike anyway, so he can participate if he wants to. Then he can let us know if his bike is really not being used and we can bring it home. He wants to have a bike, but not sure yet if he will like riding around campus or if he will prefer walking.

The Bike Happening looks wild!!! Thanks for the links!

My D’s impression from the recent email she got about WOW was that she would need/want to have her bike. We planned to bring one for her anyway, and this just confirmed her opinion that “I’m gonna love it there!” SLO looks like a really bikable town to us.

^^^ My daughter got a new cruiser for Christmas so she’ll definitely be bringing it. We still have to get a couple of bright lights and a new Kryptonite U-lock. I definitely want her visible at night! And, locked up safely. Now we’ll see how strong her legs become riding a “fixie” up Grand Avenue. ;)

I love the themes! And that they have to follow the rules of the road and use common courtesy about leaving trash around the area downtown.

I won’t be bringing one up for WOW, it’s not gonna fit in my car with all of my other dorm stuff…my parents are going to bring it up in October instead. I hope I won’t miss out on too much during my first month up there without one! =/
