@barbapapa9 that‘s odd. Were both letters posted as status updates?
Nothing’s changed on my portal and I didn’t get an email…I’m really confused
@GerBrazStudent no the rejection one was posted as a status update, but after signing in to my portal and before opening the update there were some info points for admitted students and a letter congratulating me on my acceptance!!
does the applicant portal of any of the students who received an update today look different?
@barbapapa9 same thing happened to me! I‘m guessing it‘s a mistake, but even so it‘s very direspectful of them to give us false hopes

Honestly at this point I just want to know if the process is over or not.

@coffee2020 Yeah… I’ve been putting off so many opportunities and meeting new people for the off chance I make it off the waitlist here :\ wish they’d just let us down easy if that’s the case
So what’s the verdict? Is it officially over?
Yeah, I applied to three schools, I didn’t get enough financial aid in the other two so Brown was my last hope, I already took a Gap Year so I guess I have to stay in my country without anything now. I guess you all guys have a place to go, good luck to all of you!!
@throwaway303 no clue… seems some people haven’t gotten anything yet unless it said in the rejection letters that the process was concluded?

My portal still has yet to change whatsoever.
Mine is also unchanged @coffee2020. Although in the PDF linked in the portal, they say that “the Wait List is permanently dissolved by June 30,” so (assuming that policy still holds) I wonder if we’ll be hearing soon one way or the other.

When we wrote you earlier of the Board’s decision to place your name on our Wait List, we had hoped to be able to consider you for admission at a later time. It is with great regret that we must inform you that your application could not be included among our acceptances. We understand how disappointing this news must be, but we are deeply humbled that you chose to apply and grateful to have had the opportunity to learn more about you.
You are clearly capable of performing well academically and of making significant contributions to a college community in other ways. With more than twenty candidates for every available space, the Board’s task in selecting the members of the Class of 2024 has been extremely difficult.
We want to acknowledge your accomplishments and to reiterate how much care we have taken in the admission process to get to know you, and how difficult it is therefore to share this news.
On behalf of the Board of Admission, I want to thank you for taking the time to prepare your application and for your interest in Brown. We know you will have a successful college career and we wish you the best as you pursue your college plans.
