IDK. this might be some stupid portal astrology, but based on what I’ve seen, people that have gotten an IDOC request in RD in march and an updated have all gotten in. does anyone have any anecdotes that counter this?
nothing for us
I got one 2/27 and my portal updated with documents labeled 2/27, hope that counts
Good luck to all the students and parents with kids applying to Brown (including mine). I have one who is in his third year at Brown and absolutely loves it–the teaching, the accessibility to professors, the cache the name comes with, etc. As a parent moving your kid across the country to a place like Brown, you really do get a feeling of reassurance. They will figure it out because Brown will give them the right amount of guidance. Now, it’s expensive as heck, but that’s just how it is at Brown if you don’t get aid.
We got that too.
Does an IDOC request mean anything or was that debunked last year? Asking because did not get one
based on what ive seen, not a single domestic applicant who got one in regular decision got rejected in the past five years
but i dont think its anything bad to not get one
Thank you! I think I saw like 2 or 3 people who got them get rejected on reddit, but the vast majority of people who get them seem to get in
i checked those out, and they were both ed defers
does brown ever do likely letters? haven’t seen any this year
Any Portal astrology for Brown?
I almost made a joke about how if you have a portal, you are probably not getting admitted (since that is true for all RD applicants). But I realized in the moment that would probably not go over well . . . .
withdraw button maybe
I have followed these Brown related threads for 6 years and none of the astrology seems to be predictive although it does seem to cause a lot of anxiety.
Wishing you all good results!!
What does an IDOC request look like?? I just got an email saying “An Additional School Has Requested Documents”. I’m not sure if Brown was already on the list but they now are… How can I confirm for sure which school is new?
Will show you the school when you login to idoc
If Brown wasn’t on the list before and you never sent them any other documents then it’s Brown requesting documents — that’s a IDOC request.
It shows me the list of schools requesting documents when I open IDOC, but I’m not sure what exactly the list was beforehand… The list is Brown, Stanford, Yale, Harvard, Columbia—but I think out of those it makes the most sense for it to be Brown… Just because I know they have a history of sending them out close to the time. Does anyone else already have Brown on their IDOC list without an email?
