It’s there for me as well. It’s in the bottom-left corner of my portal. I opened it and of course, there’s no information available as yet. It’s definitely indicative that there’s progress in the admission’s process. I’m able to search for classes in the Banner Self-Service as well.
Oh. Lol. That little thing? I thought you guys had a checklist. Yeah. Everyone has that.
Same, It has appeared well. It lets me go through different years and shows that a lot of the documents have been satisfied (I’m also waiving my NC parent, so it says I might get a call back from a counselor asking for more information. I think they’re finalizing applications).
I didn’t apply for aid and I don’t have that. How do we access the banner to view classes or is that something that comes with the financial aid button?
@sisyphuspeak Hello, there is information for me tho. I can see the financial aid checklist and how my documents have been received. Is this a bad sign?
@angeldiaz I am in the exact same situation. They told me that we might get an admission decision before a financial aid decision. They have also told me a counselor might reach up to me in case they need more info. Is brown need aware?
@ivytransfer12 I can see my financial aid checklist as well. I have no idea if it means anything more than it is, but I kind of doubt it. All we can do is hope for the best.
yes, Brown is need-aware
can anyone who didn’t apply for financial aid see the financial aid stuff?
@av0cado7 I didn’t apply for financial aid. It’s not coming up for me
@ivytransfer12 from what I’ve understood, it is need blind for first year applicants and international students. Many transfers don’t apply for financial aid because the school has allegedly place emphasis on the student’s ability to cover the cost of tuition. I’d like to think that our finances won’t be used against our application, but I’m not 100% sure about that. And normally decisions are out and the followed by financial aid packages.
never, I made a mistake, they are need aware.
I think that we should all be able to see course options? I don’t know how you are able to log onto banner bc you don’t use an email, you use your id— so like jnd1234 (example one). or at least that’s what I’m seeing.
I believe we will get an email telling us when decision are soon to come – last year this email was sent out on 4/26.
im confused literally wheres the course option thing
Yeah where is that?
Yeah, @av0cado7 I’m not sure how they can access it. Does having access to the financial aid checklist give you access to the banner self-service thing? There is an option to activate an account but I don’t think that’s what they’re doing to access the courses.
Are you talking about cab.brown.edu? Pretty sure anyone can access that
@transfer0120 what was the difference in dates between the email and actual applications last year? I think their checklist disappeared like 3-5 days before decisions came out.
I suppose we have access to the banner-self service because that’s where our financial aid application is in. And without it we wont be able to see how our documents are being processed
