Brownie points for college?

Hi guys, I’m looking at Adelphi and I’m enrolled in their high school program and so far having an A in that class. Although my GPA is 2.4 (freshman + sophomore) I feel like I can raise it to 2.9 GPA.

If I get a decent SAT score (say 1650), and take Adelphi Anatomy next year with an AP course, would that give me “brownie” points in terms of “This student must’ve had a faulty year and their turning their act around” and prove to them that I am capable of college courses?

Thanks in advance.

Also is Adelphi difficult to get into?
