***BS/MD Interview Notification for Class of 2013***

@newdoc20202021
I asked about the guarantee and got the answer in the Drexel accepted thread below.
I got a similar answer elsewhere too, so I guess we shouldn’t worry about it.

Which thread?

Do you guys know anything about the Lehigh BA MD program? I was rejected to both drexel and villanova ba md, so I don’t think I have any chance of getting in…

Drexel BS/MD Program’s Accepted Students Thread!!

my first post from newly created acct. Thanx for all the valuable and timely feedback and moral support for each other. I applied to Drexel, Pittsburgh, washU, Brown and Penn BS/MD. Got declined in first three, Brown decision pending, and on friday 8 am I got acceptance from Penn/Jefferson. As suggested, I will post my stats when everyone else does on this thread. Meanwhile, my best wishes to one and all.

So how many students on this thread got offers for the BU SMED program? Is it really difficult to get in? I see that for acceptance into the other programs, there have been many more people saying they got accepted than for this one. Why?

If anyone is very strongly considering Villanova/Drexel med program, please PM me. At this point, unless a miracle happens this week, I will most likely be accepting their offer.

@patrickstarr- I do believe BU just came out yesterday by online portal, so it’s possible that many people haven’t checked and/or are not on CC. However, for example, Drexel Med has like 6 undergraduate school connected with it, so I guess there are just more seats available. I, myself, applied to three of them (but I’m pretty sure there are like 7-8 undergrad/Drexel Med)

@sjshah How many acceptances do you have? Any interviews still pending?

@sjshah. Congratulations! You will have awesome premed schooling at Villanova and onto med school thereafter . Enjoy the journey along the long arduous road to becoming a physician. Dab into research and some clinical EC’s @ Nova .

@BombingRange- I have Drexel/Drexel, Nova/Drexel, Rosemont/Drexel, Temple/Temple, SLU med Scholars. Drexel’s interview went really really good, so I guess they decided to accept me to Nova’s program, although, compared to the other kids at the interview, I had the “lower tier” SAT score (2240…these kids were crazy!). I’m guessing my ECs (I was heavy on Humanitarian stuff ie. genocide relief, etc) and my essay (haha…submitted my Brown essay) really separated me.

And I have Brown PLME coming this week (the one decision that would change my entire decision) but no interviews as of yet, as W&J/Temple still hasn’t gotten back to anyone regarding acceptances/interviews. I also am waiting on Howard Med, JHU undergrad (just for heck of it), and of course, Brown undergrad.

Does anyone know a program that Nova would be “similar to,” meaning in like pretige or quality? It’s not going to affect my decision, I was just wondering.

I got my PSU/Jeff acceptance! I also got accepted into the VCU program, and I have my Brown decision pending. I’ll post stats later when everyone else does, but I just wanted to thank everyone - this process is better when you know there are other people going through the same thing. Good luck to everyone, and hopefully everyone has/had/is having a good spring break!

@sjshah
Would you rather take Drexel/Drexel or Villanova/Drexel?

Sent from my SCH-I535 using CC

Hey I have been accepted to a couple BS/MD programs. I want to hear your guys’ views on how to say no to the other colleges.

@risubu which ones?

Sent from my SCH-I535 using CC

@newdoc- I’m leaning Nova over Drexel, but it really is a preference. I liked Villanova and consider it a respectable school. However, that doesn’t mean I’ve completely gotten rid of Drexel/Drexel. I still have yet to visit both schools again. I will make my final decisions after that.

UTMB EMSAP Interview :)

@sjshah
The reason I’m asking is that I’m trying to decide between Drexel and Brooklyn and I’m starting to lean towards Drexel

Sent from my SCH-I535 using CC

@newdoc- does Brooklyn require MCATs? If not, take Brooklyn. If it does, Drexel is a great choice, as it does not try to “weed you out”. If you get the 3.5 GPA and MCAT requirement, you’re in their med school. Plus Drexel is literally right next to UPenn, so the area is safe and nice. However, keep in mind I have no idea about Brooklyn, as I didn’t apply (nor could I, as I am OOS)

@sjshah and newdoc Yes, Brooklyn requires a 30 on the MCAT, but then again, it comes down to preference between NYC and Philly. If you are not attending, just call them up and tell them.

For people who got GW, did you notice that the response date is April 12th? What if all of our programs, like Stony Brook, are not in by then?
