just got the email

UT PACT for me too!! Congrats everyone! :D

congrats PurpleFibonacci!

congrats guys! I’m assuming all of y’all got the full ride + stipend from UTD as well? PACT is definitely the best combined degree program in texas :)

did everyone get their pact decisions already? i live in the dfw area and didnt apply to shape so i dont know if that would impact when i receive my decision

i dont think SHAPE or FAME decisions have an impact on PACT admissions

ok thanks i was just wondering why i didnt receive it yet, i personally dont know anyone from dfw thats received notification so i wanted to see if someone in the area did

S accepted to Sophie Davis!! His first choice! Congrats to all those accepted to the schools of their choice and/or to a BA/MD program… Ivy decisions tomorrow, but doesn’t matter anymore!!

@Insanemom Congrats! I was accepted to Sophie too. Where else did he apply/get accepted? I’m trying to decide between Brooklyn and Sophoe right now to narrow things down as I wait to hear from NJMS…

Thebombingrange, congrats on your acceptances as well. S applied to sophie, hofstra 4+4, some Ivys, upper tier schools, 1 state school and Macaulay Brooklyn. Honestly, you have a tough decision ahead of you, but you can’t go wrong either way. It’s a matter of preference. My older S didn’t have a great experience at the Brooklyn BA/MD so this S didn’t apply. But that was his history, not yours. They both have their pros and cons. I suggest you go to the accepted students days and ask questions. Then go with your gut. Btw, we should wear our cc name tags at accepted student days!

What did he dislike about BC when he went there? Was it the program or the school?

On one hand, you’re taking most classes with regular CUNY students so it doesn’t have a feel of anything special (unless if you have macaulay also, that’s a benefit). And when you finish with all your requirements, GPA, community service every semester and MCAT, you could probably get into a better med school. Also, the attrition rate is 50% some years. BUT, I also know that some people loved it and went on to great residencies from downstate. You do have more options in the Brooklyn program. My younger S visited the two and liked the small community of sophie, and theidea of saving a year and decided that it was more for him.

My friend got into SD and Brooklyn College. He is excited to go to SD especially because this is a 7 year program with very cheap tuition. He said his friends in the SD program were accepted to NYU med school. My friend said he will do a fellowship in something once he graduates from SD to be the doctor he wants to be. I feel bad now because I wanted to apply to SD, but I did not. Instead, I applied ED for Cornell and got in there. Well, Cornell is a very good school.

I have been accepted to Siena/Albany and Drexel/Drexel… I have no idea what to do… Any suggestions?

@bombingrange thank you for finding out scholarship info!!

@fivestarspk Siena/AMC does not require MCAT and that makes a huge difference. And both Drexel and Albany med school are similar in their ranking so pick Siena/AMC

@fivestarspk pm @sbmhhs she has exactly the same choices

@fivestarspk I agree with @Magna7 - Siena/AMC is a better choice than Drexel. Siena is a great college located in a nice part of Albany and AMC has an excellent reputation as teaching college. Current Dean of Brigham Woman and Children’s hospital (Harvard) is a graduate of AMC. (My son did a summer program at Siena couple of years back and he loved the campus, dining and everything there).
