Did not know about Rice/Baylor until you mention it…and it is good of you to consider finance. If it is not too costly to go to the interview, why not try? Everyone mentions Rice/Baylor as one of the less expensive programs (I must say I have not looked into finance - thought I might as well wait till everything is in - homework this weekend!) and it is certainly excellent. Best of luck!

Well my son got his rejection from RPI - no surprise because he went against my suggestions and outright told them he preferred Union. We did not get any emails about Union and won’t get to check his email until after 5pm today - I can’t stand the wait. In hindsight I am glad he made up his mind before/during the interview that he did not want the RPI program as this is the fair thing to do.

Congratulations to everyone!!!

@class1417 I am no expert, just that students here at the high school I am at come to for help all the time - just PM me I would be glad to help if it’s within my knowledge. Also there are many others on CC who can help you too and we can help to direct you to those who know about certain schools etc. Also applications this year have been treated slightly differently by schools probably due to the record increase in applications.

Thank you and congrats to your son too!

@Midhelper
Will keep fingers crossed for your son regarding Union/AMC - and I truly understand and sympathize with the stress of waiting! All the best…

@SLCMom - Congrats to you and your daughter! Very happy for you!

@SLCMom - Congrats to you and your daughter.

My daughter also got in RPI / Albany. Now she has to choose from Drexel / Drexel and RPI / Albany… Any thoughts which program is better ?? I think cost wise both are similar ? and both are 7 yrs ?

@certaindr, if your daughter wants to pursue an academic career, especially as a physician scientist, RPI/AMC is the obvious choice. Congrats! It is so so good to have options and choices.

@IMGDAD : Thanks & Congrats to your son too!

@certaindr
Thank you and congrats to you and yours too!

@coquifrog
Thank you very much! And again thank you for all your help and encouragement. Best regards.

I might sound masochistic. Now that we are all coming to the end of the journey, it is kinda an anticlimax. I must admit I enjoy the journey more than the destination!

@IMGDAD then we just worry about keeping them in the programs so a new journey begins.

@Midhelper, great that you pointed it out that I will have new journeys to make. Looking forward to it.

@IMGDAD
Well you could look forward to repeating this with the grandkids…?

But seriously, I know next years’ kids would appreciate your advice and help too.

@SLCMom, I will not be repeating this journey for another four years, when my youngest is ready to apply. Not sure if she wants to do medicine and am trying to encourage her to do music instead.

@IMGDAD
Congrats on your family! I am sure they give you a lot of joy, and it is fantastic that your youngest daughter has the musical talents. All the best.

@SLCMom So glad to hear your daughter made it. After those series of rejections. She is so qualified and was so down to earth when we met her. I am very glad she got a spot. :)

@Midhelper, good luck with the Union program!

@Midhelper
Thank you very much for your kind words! All the best wishes for your son - fingers crossed for good news tonight or next Monday for Union.

Apparently the Union results were also sent out this morning but must have been sent out after we left. Son doesn’t have email access during the day but sounds like either good or bad news is waiting at the end of the day.
