*** BS/MD Interview Notification for Class of 2014***

@Midhelper‌
Well, we’re certainly going to keep fingers crossed for good news! Hang in there and all the best.

I have enjoyed all the posts too through out this journey though with less participation than most of you. However will miss this forum. I only have two kids and this was the second one. My first is at NW in the HPME program and this one got into 4 BS/MD programs - no not HPME though. So for us it is Aloha!

@Midhelper, I do not know how you are going to react o this, but I prayed when we were waiting for Drexel result. I Ask and we will receive. I will pray for your S.

@coquifrog, you have 2 high achievers! How nice.

@class1417, yes, seek and ye shall find!

Son got into RPI/AMC today and was rejected from HPM Miami last Friday. He is debating between going to UG Miami with 21k scholarship and RPI/AMC? Not sure if he will get anything for RPI, he loved UM, but 7 years and no MCAT? We are lost :)

@class1417 - thank you for your kind words! I feel blessed as a parent…

@DoctorBarguz, congrats. If you can afford it and if medicine is truly what he wants to do, the RPI/AMC program would be a brilliant choice.

@Class1417 thanks for your thoughts.

@coquifrog‌
Congrats! Now the fun of picking among the choices…I’ll assume despite the “aloha” it isn’t Hawaii (that is MY dream ending point)!

@DoctorBarguz‌
It may be worth talking to RPI finance office, if there isn’t adequate scholarship or aid included in the admission package. Also it is 3 year versus 4 years undergraduate, so it may come out close. Applying to medical schools, flying to interviews, paying for MCAT review courses etc. would add up in actual dollars and mental stress as well. However, we are in a much easier situation because my daughter likes RPI/AMC very much so no struggle for her at all. Your son will do fine whichever way he chooses, but I do understand it is tough to decide. Best of luck!

P.S. My daughter emailed Miami some questions last week regarding their regular undergraduate premed program, PRISM, Medical Scholars Program, etc.; no reply yet. Will post if we ever hear back. And if we never do, it says something about the school as well, don’t you think?

Just got accepted into the Stony Brook Scholars for Medicine Program! So excited right now!

@SLCMom- Congrats to your D!!! Ahh so exciting! I’m glad this one came through!

@med007- thanks and congrats!! :D

@calss1417- Thank you for your kind words. So did your S get into the ones at which he interviewed (Drexel, Penn, and Rutgers)? If so, has he decided on which he’s going to attend? Congrats and good luck!

@Midhelper- Good luck with Union!!

@ coquifrog- Has your son decided where he’ll go yet? Congrats to both of them-- that’s amazing. :)

I was rejected from RPI/AMC-- but I kinda expected it cuz it was by far my worst interview. I also didn’t necessarily want to go there, so I wasn’t on my A game lol. Congrats to everyone who got in!

@thejerseygirl- YAYYYYYY!!! AHHHH CONGRATS!! <3 <3

Thanks IMGDAD and SLCMom! It will be tough choice to make but it will be his choice.
SLCMom, PRISM - they say is extremely hard, although my son got the invite, we decided against it. Medical Scholars Program - I researched: requires 31+ ACT, 3.7 GPA in sophomore year + research and there is no application process, they will need to choose you and send an invite.
Congrats to everyone and good luck to all our kids.

My daughter just got accepted by Temple Health Scholar Program with a full ride. The information came through email.

So far my D has received acceptance from Temple Health Scholar, SLU-MedScholar and NJIT/SGU programs. However in my opinion, Temple is a better choice than SLU because it has full ride and offers 7 year option. While NJIT/SGU is an FMG program which always been out of the equation.

@starlight27‌ and @DoctorBarguz
Thanks!

@AspireMedicDad, congrats to your daughter. Temple in my mind is the best choice.

My S was accepted to the Union College/Albany Medical College program!

@Silverwind “just attend an Ivy”…?

I just cried for 20 minutes. My son got accepted to Union/AMC!
