BS/MD programs or the regular routine?

Which is better? applying to BS/MD programs or just applying regularly to colleges with pre-med major
I noticed that BS/MD programs are so competitive according to the writings here…
since i’m not an extraordinary student, is it better to go to a good college which i can get into and try to go to a good med school or to a low BS/MD program that i can barely get into?
And what’s the advantage of attending BS/MD programs rather than attending a good college and trying to get into a med school?
BTW, in general, are church-related EC’s okay for college apps since i wasn’t that active in school?

First of all, not every BS/MD program is as competitive as you think. I go to a fairly non-competitive program (will not mention which).

If you are not a great student then you probably won’t make it to medical school the regular way (sorry, but that is the truth). You could take the BS/MD route, which the benefit is guaranteed admission in to medical school, but you might not make it that way (there still are requirements) or want to make it that way. What do you define as a “good college?” If you can get into a “good college” then you can probably get into a few programs without too much trouble.

I’ll post what I wrote it another thread:

I don’t see a problem with church-related EC. You can post EC that you are involved in outside of school.
