Accepted into the Boston-London Program. It’s a 2 year course of general studies then 2 years in a selected major. The offered courses do not seem to be what I need to take to graduate with a degree in biology, yet the admission letter said I would…? Confusing, especially since I did not apply to this program.
Rejected with guaranteed transfer admission College of Engineering in Fall 2019
SAT: 1480
GPA: 3.756/4.000 Weighted
Is it wrong of me to feel shocked about this? I wouldn’t say BU was a safety school for me, but I definitely figured it would be a decent match. I guess not. After this and a denial from Northeastern maybe I’m just not as solid of an applicant as I thought. My parents are going to have a field day once I tell them.
Anyways for those of you wondering, this is what the denied+guaranteed transfer letter said:
"We appreciate your interest in Boston University, but after a careful and thoughtful review of your application, the Board of Admissions is unable to offer you admission at this time.
We do, however, recognize your strong commitment to your studies and your many achievements in high school, as well as your potential for success at Boston University. For these reasons, you are one of a select group of students to whom we are offering guaranteed admission as a transfer student to the College of Engineering for September 2019.
This offer is extended with the understanding that you will successfully complete your current high school work in good academic and disciplinary standing. In addition, you must complete two semesters as a full-time student at one accredited college or university in the US, other than Boston University, earn a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, and maintain good academic and disciplinary standing."
Good luck to all of you still waiting. Check your portal even if you didn’t get an email, I haven’t gotten my email yet.
@TapTapRevenge3 1510 SAT ranked 4/493 with 3.92 UW GPA (5.1 W)
@squinty I did, and looking around in this thread I’ve also seen a few others with this status.
@JJJ1999 You cannot appeal a waitlist decision. You must indicate that you are willing to be placed on the waitlist.
