I think I’m probably gonna go with WUSTL. I plan on majoring in film studies and building my portfolio, and graduating debt free so I can move to LA or go to grad school in film! sounds like the most reasonable choice for me at least
@Shar2000 I’m in the same situation. BU is my top school, I got into the honors college, but they didn’t give me a cent. I am appealing for money right now, and I’m waiting for them to get back to me, but if they come up short, I’ll still push this issue until May 1.
My D committed to the University of Pittsburgh this morning. Will be turning down her spot in the Sargent College, Human Physiology. Good luck to those accepted and to those waiting!
To anyone who appealed financial aid,
How long did it take BU to get back to you with your updated financial offer? I sent in my appeal letter two weeks ago, and they received all the documents they needed more than a week ago. I understand that they need time to sort through these things, but I’m hoping they get back to me this week. Easter and Passover probably kept them out of the office a good amount as well.
@knightstemplar Are u appealing for need-based aid? Do you think you can still qualify for it? I actually visited the financial advisor when I went for the Open House, and he was not willing to negotiate at all. He said that appealing is an option, but then again I personally don’t think that I’ll qualify for need-based even if I appeal
I’m still committing to BU tho!
@Shar2000 I am appealing for need based, and they’ve been working on my case for many days now. I wouldn’t think they would take this much time just to say they won’t give me anything.
Also, I am torn between BU and Northeastern. Most of my friends didn’t get into BU and a lot of them are going to Northeastern. What appeals me about Northeastern is their co-op. I got into both in the College of Arts and Sciences undecided. I’m not sure but I think I want to do business. Please help!
@nyulover29 Both schools are great academically so you can’t really go wrong. In the end, it’s more of a fit thing that you need to decide for yourself.
Also, can someone elaborate on the benefits of the honors college to me? I never applied but see that a lot of people did. Perhaps I should toss my application at their honors college in the future?
