Budget cuts?

In my school in NYC, they cut regular French 5/6 classes due to budget cuts. There is now only French 5/6 Honors. That wouldn’t be so bad if you could get in without a 90 average. In order to qualify for French 5/6, you have to have a cumulative average of 90 in French 1/2 and French 3/4. So, kids who didn’t do well enough in French 1/2 have no chance of getting into French 5/6, and they can’t go farther in the French language. It’s also incredibly difficult to get into other language classes, such as Spanish 1/2, because they are packed with freshman. A lot of kids will be stuck with only one or to years of language, and they’ll be at a disadvantage when applying fr college.

We are also having paper shortages and there is no soap in teacher’s bathrooms.

Enough with my sob-story. How are budget cuts affecting you?

Teachers keep striking here because of pension cuts, which is sometimes good :)

There’s also never enough toilet paper anywhere, but I don’t think thst is due to budget cuts

My school might cut music programs because of budget concerns. But yet they just bought every student at my high school (1600 students) a MacBook Air.
