Bullying

I consider the situation to be different. I was bullied some in HS, and put an end to it by finally engaging the bully in a fight. My reasoning was that the worst case scenario was I’d be hurt for a day, but gain everyone’s respect.

A girl who tries the same tact could end up seriously injured.

I think Countingdown hit the nail on the head in post #79.

It tracks what I said earlier in this thread about the bully breaking through a major boundary. It’s pretty clear that this bad guy has an extensive track record of unacceptable behavior, but his explosion against your daughter, in school, in class, in front of a teacher…it’s a huge escalation and raises the question as to whether he is even in control of himself. This guy is potentially very dangerous!

I am glad that the school seems willing to pursue this matter but you will need to ensure follow-through that is acceptable to you. You may want to simultaneously pursue your options with the police–the school’s interests and yours are not entirely congruent .

Zoosermom- thinking of you and wondering, what’s the update?

Don’t really have an update yet. Did meet with the school and with the therapist. Both completely on board, gave us lots of information that we sort of have to wade through and make some decisions, so that’s where we stand. As soon as we get somewhere, I’ll let you know.
