Bunk Beds

I was looking online at the dorms and I noticed that they are all Bunk Beds. If there are any current W&M (or anyone in general) could tell whether or not these Bunk Beds are detachable. Also, I REALLY want to live in Yates next year. But my parents want me to live in Barret (which is on the other side of the campus), does anyone know if the kids who live in Barret feel disconnected from the other freshmen.

I stayed at w&m this summer and the beds were in fact detachable.

my brother lived in monroe and he said it is different than living with all the other freshmen, but the freshman dorms on old campus bond really well. it’s a different experience but you are mostly going to be friends with the kids in your dorm, whether it’s on new or old campus…

the beds are definitely detachable.

Why do your parents want you to live in Barrett? Request Yates, and you’ll have a good chance of ending up there. It is true, that most freshmen live over by W&M Hall. I live on old campus, in the smallest freshman dorm, and yes I do feel disconnected, but I don’t know how many people in the new campus dorms actually know each other, just that there are a lot more of them around.
