seems a little hard to navigate- may not be any currently
have you ever used true car?
Yes, but only to locate cars & suvs nationwide, and only since I became aware of the site after starting this thread. ( I am not a “car-person”. We just need to buy two or three new vehicles now so I started searching.)
Google: New Toyota RAV4 Prime for sale
Then look for the truecardotcom link. Then go to the left & select “nationwide” if you prefer something other than “near me”. There are 193 listed nationwide, but some may be sold.
I look at the location such as “Denver” or any other city. Then I google Denver Toyota dealer. Go to that dealer’s website & search new car inventory for Toyota RAV4 Prime.
P.S. Assuming that you are in Colorado, one Colorado dealer adds a 20% mark-up above MSRP,while another adds less than two (2%) percent.
Annapolis, Maryland dealer has 4 coming in, while the Owings Mill, MD dealer also is expecting four (4). Call the dealers & ask about availability, cost, and shipping cost if too far from you.
Seems a little hard to navigate- maybe there are none
I would only look at about the last 600. It might get updated in the next day or two and if so, just look at the ones after row 24736. They’ll often hit that spreadsheet before they hit cars.com, cargurus.com, or the dealer sites. It’s just another tool to use in finding one. I searched basically everyday for months last year before finding one as soon as it showed up on the spreadsheet. I contacted 15-16 dealers in multiple states before one finally worked out. They’re actually not as scarce now as they were a year ago.
If anyone wants to see these trucks in action watch “Long Way Up”. It was on Apple TV. Not sure if it’s still there. Ewan and Charley ride their Harley e-bikes from the tip of South America to LA. The Rivians are used as pack mules. The scenery is amazing. The Atacama desert is unreal.
I saw a Rivian on Saturday. It’s a nice looking truck from the side and rear. Because of traffic, I wasn’t able to get a look from the front. Reminds me a little of a Jeep Gladiator.
S texted me pic of a Rivian stopped next to him at a stop light in Palo Alto. Looks nice.
Needs a much longer bed to be functional as a real truck IMO. And get rid of the light stripe. Otherwise, an OK, solid vehicle.
Love the distinguishing light stripe, but it is designed to be dramatic and, therefore, to elicit strong responses.
I’m sure they’re working on it but cold…very cold weather also caused issues with battery charges.
I pity anyone with a rear view mirror who has the misfortune of driving in front of it in the dark…
Uh, that’s where on saw the Rivian too, on El Camino Real in the vicinity of Stanford University and the Shopping Mall. It was light blue. I bet it’s the same one, since there aren’t that many roaming the streets.
The GMC Hummer EV Pickup looks like the Jeep Gladiator:
Heard a news report that Tesla plans to copy Rivian’s 4 engine skateboard platform design.
I was aware of Tesla’s 3 motor design, but have not yet read of any plan for a 4 motor platform.
Probably barely noticeable compared to all of those with the high beams on when there is other traffic around, or where the headlights are misaimed.
I agree. The current high powered headlights do cause problems.
Even old headlights were an annoyance when drivers would use the high beams when there is other traffic around.
The Rivian R1T decorative light bar is probably relatively low intensity compared to its actual headlights (remember the first and second generation Mercury Sable?).
If this is purely cosmetic, it could be OK. But it looks like it is used to supplement the headlights, and that would be a problem.
