Des Cal poly ever accept based on your alternate program or is it just the primary program?
I think that they have started to send out rejections but what happens if your portal still says no determination?

@flumeodesza I got waitlisted as well for CS with a 33 ACT and 4.6 CSU GPA and an having the same thoughts. Now we just gotta hope for the UCs. Nice name btw.
I still haven’t heard anything back for econ… I’m getting nervous because of all the waitlist

Very disappointing as this was his first choice. Interesting that his stats are in the same range as many others who are waitlisted, let’s hope the UCs have different criteria.
Forgot to add, the email notification states “received a record pool of over 65,000 applications for approximately 5,400 available student openings” . He also submitted his application relatively early, in mid-October.
Mine says the same thing. I don’t think this is a problem because the applications take about five days to process or update so it is normal.
Great for all, but sad for S, 36 ACT, 1530 SAT, 800 ind subject tests, GPA 4.77, tons of EC, sports etc…got waitlisted for engineering!
Agree there are some puzzling results relating to the waitlist. That being said, I’m impressed with all the talent. SO MANY truly accomplished students who have amazing stats and opportunities ahead.

Just got an email saying I was waitlisted! Got a little nervous since everyone posted their waitlists earlier in the day. I applied to Biomedical Engineering. My stats are:
GPA: 4.83 (capped at 4.2)
SAT: 1360 (680 Math 680 Language)
Tons of Extracirricular with Sports, Leadership, Team Captain, 9 AP classes, All Honors Classes.
My MCA (if i Calculated correctly) was around a 4750. Hoping for the best for all of us! Remember that UC acceptances are right around the corner. I believe in all of you

im a biological sciences major with a 29 on the act (not that good lmao), 4.4 GPA (CP Capped 4.2), and in-state!
i also have over 50 overs of extra curriculars, volunteer work that relates to my major, and a job but i dont think that matters very much tbh

My sons scores are lower than what I’ve seen here and I expect a rejection for econ soon. We’re from California so in state. It seems the solution is just to apply out of state and pay twice as much. I’m thankful he applied to the Colorado schools where they accepted months ago and offered some scholarships. The california schools have been a big disappointment.

I am not sure why, but I got waitlisted (first school I didn’t get into).
Before this, I was accepted for CS to UC Berkeley (L&S), Georgia Tech, UIUC, UCR, UCI honors, UCSC, Purdue, University of Maryland, and UMich (Engineering).
Stats:
4.0 UW 4.33 CSUW (capped)
SAT: 1510 (reading 720, math 790)
I applied CS. People with worse stats than me got in… I am very confused (especially bc there is no essay involved). What did I do wrong? I applied to many privates–is this a signal that I won’t get into more schools? I’m hella worried nowwwwwww
wait you got accepted to all those schools but you dont wanna go to any of them? why apply then? also its ok! dont worry you have great stats!
