Has anyone been accepted off the waitlist for Nutritional Science - Dietetics?

Son received “An Important Message from the Director of Admissions” last night that opens like this:
And it went on with lengthy discussion about “as a campus we are flawed”. We have no idea what incident and what flaw he’s talking about. Any locals that can explain?

The original story was a few days before Admit weekend, and about the same time as offers started going out to those on the waitlist, including those out of state who may not have heard about the incident. Coincidence? Is this blown out of proportion? My son is on the waitlist and we are seriously re-thinking the spot given these recent stories.
I know of one person who changed their mind and no longer will be enrolling because of this.
I would really encourage people who didn’t hear them discuss this at admitted students day to contact the school. I left feeling like they were really trying to address this situation.

I was at the Open House/admitted student day. The incident was addressed from many sides. One of the student speakers at the ENG welcome, the student president of Engineers without Borders, spoke in support of the protestors and called out the Dean/Pres of the school for not doing more. That took guts. All was respectful and peaceful. I agree with @lovespink that they are addressing the problems, their is a dialogue now and minority students are a hugs part of this process along with many supporters within the student body. That was my take away.
Waitlisted applicant for general engineering here. Does anyone know if it’s normal for them to be taking people off the waitlist this early (before May 1)? Is this a good sign?
I am so thankful that they starting pulling off the waitlist early. @pleasgod I take it to mean they were cautious with their initial acceptances and now are working slowly off the waitlist as May1st approaches.
Is anyone else’s portal not working? It looks like they’re just upgrading the system.
Accepted off the waitlist on Tuesday 4/17 to Biochemistry but they may have lost him to UCSanta Barbara or Davis.

@futureucstudent I haven’t seen any new waitlist acceptances on here, or on the Cal Poly waitlist page. I would maybe keep checking over there and see?
@futureucstudent I doubt they are over. Just maybe they will not have any more until after the May 1st enrollment deadline.
