My D’s GC had her completely freaked out that SDSU was not her safety, even though I had calculated her EI and read enough on here to know that it was for sure her safety. The GC was telling her to apply to Fullerton, SF State, and Long Beach as well. I don’t think so, not with my $$$.
Her stats were 3.95 unweighted, 4.2 weighted, 32 ACT. No surprise, she was accepted to SDSU in the early wave and accepted to the Honors College.
@Carbonman a friend of my daughter’s was recruited to Stanford this fall for division 1 gymnastics. he is an amazing gymnast. everyone is so happy for him at the gym!
what school did you end up at? are you still competing?
@SC Anteater my daughter was accepted into sdsu’s early wave too. unfortunately she did not want to apply to the honors college. what is your D’s major?
I know this is SLO, but while we’re waiting, I just now got accepted to Purdue.
“Congratulations! The Purdue University Admissions Committee is pleased to offer you admission to Computer Science in the College of Science at West Lafayette for Fall 2018.”
@Carbonman, your counselor is absolutely correct. Four schools is plenty. You simply need a safety, a school that is not selective, that you know you will get in, that you can afford, that you’ll like. MANY students apply to ONE school and are blissfully happy. My son almost picked his safety over Cal Poly.
@susie0102: Did you run the net price calculator for SLO? Expect only federal aid if eligible and maybe $1-2K scholarship as an OOS applicant. In general, as an OOS applicant for California public universities, expect to pay full fees.
