DSās status says āProvisional Admissionā. Iām assuming this is provisional until he submits his final transcript? No official email yet. Just checked on CPP Portal.

I scoured past threads to see when the acceptances for that go out. Looks like mid March (and as late as the 3rd week).

Provisional admission means for most schools that the student needs to maintain the same academic standards throughout the rest of their Senior year (ie. Passing all the a-g courses) and submit the required documentation such as final transcripts by the deadlines to maintain their acceptance. Some schools have specific GPA requirements for Senior year and some do not. Not meeting the provisional admission requirements set by the school can result in the acceptance being rescinded.
A āPre-majorā admission at some of the schools requires the student complete the required courses along with a specific GPA to declare the major. Example is SDSU. Completely different since the student is already attending and enrolled.

My daughter applied to KHC last year as an incoming freshman. She received her notification on 4/19/21. Unfortunately, she did not get in though.
4/19?!? Geez! And sorry to hear that. Did she reapply this year? Or no longer interested?
No she didnāt reapply this year.
She instead auditioned and made it into Wind Ensemble and is pretty involved with that. Sheās made a good group of friends there.
She also joined Cal Polyās Rose Float Club and, now that the campus has opened up more, sheās checking out different clubs related to her major and thatās really seems to be going well.
In terms of priority registration, she gets that through being a member of the Wind Ensemble. So itās all working out.

Thatās awesome! Iām sure the wind ensemble is fabulous for her. Once youāve got your group, youāre good to go. I went to a very large school, but I had my smaller insular group that provided my social life and focus for the four years, so my school didnāt feel that large to me.

Son waitlisted for mechanical engineering tonight. 3.82 CSU GPA 4.4/3.6 weighted/unweighted HS GPA. 11 APs, 9 honors classes. In-state. Thought this one would be a long shot.
Iāve been accepted at NAU and Cal Maritime so far, waiting on SLO, Berkeley, LA, Davis, San Diego, and Santa Barbra. All for mechanical engineering, except SLO, which I applied for Civil engineering.

D just found her portal status was updated 3/2 (although she did check it that day and didnāt see anything). No email.

Afraid not. At this point, the wait list is a lottery. Just cross your fingers and hang in there. Where else did you apply?
