Cal Poly SLO Class of 2028 Freshman Discussion Thread

Yes, it is.

I think CSU uses SAT score to satisfy placement.

What major is your son?

Computer science

I remember seeing your posts in Santa Clara, didn’t you ED Santa Clara?

I’m not sure about the SAT/ACT astrology. My son’s girlfriend has been getting into everything she has applied to and she doesn’t see the “awaiting Official SAT scores.” That’s not to say that this could be her first miss, but it’s keeping my spirits up :grinning: :crossed_fingers:

Oh but she hasn’t entered the lottery of top UCs and Cal Poly until today!..even the best and brightest it is a gamble for… Let the odds ever be in your favor all.

agreed—all 15 ppl in my calc bc class (we are oos btw) applied to cal poly and none of us have the sat/act score indicator—it’s pretty unlikely that all of us got rejected haha

Good point!

Where is this “Awaiting SAT” showing up?

SATs are only one way to satisfy placement. If you are in state and marked the box releasing your CAASSP test results to the CSU and got a “4 - exceeds standards”, you have already provided a satisfactory placement test.

Do they have AP Calc AB scores that would satisfy Math placement?

This is helpful. We are Californians. My kid has state testing scores and AP scores of 4+, so would not see an SAT requirement.

Yes- good catch. D24 in state, released CAASSP ELA score of 4 on application. I’m really hoping this is why the “awaiting SAT” does not show up on her portal. Does this match anyone else’s situation? Anxiously awaiting SLO and UCD news- this is going to be a long day- I am glad I am waiting along with all of you!

So on your child’s application it doesn’t show SAT scores?

Yes my kid exceeded everything on CAASPP and released scores - no request for SAT on the portal.

this makes me feel so much better!! She definitely marked that box… And didn’t even take the SAT/ACT. :crossed_fingers:

yep! plus ap lang if there’s an english req. that makes sense, thanks.

We are out of state . He didn’t submit SAT which might be required for Calc . He took calc AB in 12th grade .

So I think whoever is not seeing the “awaiting SAT” might have already met the requirement . Good Luck everyone !
