Interesting, they did not have that button last year.
Students should apply for the honors program if they have time to write essays. The perk is priority registration, honors housing etc. My student is in the honors program.

Does anyone have sketchy info on the Math Placement link under Forms in the Admission Status area? It mentions that SAT and AP scores were self-reported (no, they were officially reported by their respective organizations in October), and it also references that SAT and AP scores were “listed above” on the page, but there are no scores listed anywhere on that page. Seems a little hokey at this point. We emailed admissions with the questions, but of course we wanted to come here for insights!
Also wondering, do all of the Honors College application invitations go out at the same time as admission decisions, or might there be more to come? Any chance that could be determined after Math Placement is complete? Math major, by the way. Curious how it’s decided who gets the Honors College application invitations. Apparently 800 on the SAT (Math) doesn’t do it…
Anyone heard anything who applied as a Natural Resources Management major? Thank you!
It is likely from the parent FB group.
Only top students from each major were invited.
How many students typically apply to the Honors Program for fall admission?
In recent years, we have received about 600 applications for fall admission. We typically admit about 100 to 125 students from this applicant pool.
What factors contribute to the decision for first-year admission to the Honors Program?
A student’s responses to the essay questions on the application are the most important factors in admissions. Your academic performance in high school and the rigor of your high school record are also important. High school class rank and recommendations are not considered.
My son just got in. We are Nor Cal (but not bay area) Not sure his full info for SLO, but he took 14 semesters of Honors/ AP classes. He had a 3.79 Weighted (as calculated by UCs)

not sure about the rest, this was a reach school for him… Hope this is helpful.
Thank you, but I’m actually wondering how it’s determined who is invited. I haven’t found any info on that.
Congratulations to him.
Major?
Did he just get an email or did his portal just update or he just checked his status? Trying to determine if they are sending out more decisions this evening.
Hi got an email at 12:12Pm today. Major: City and Urban Planning.
Thank you.

Of course more decisions are to come since no one has been waitlisted or denied as of yet. If they are admits, only tomorrow will tell.
we are crossing everything over here…
Do we know anything else about the honors program? My son has the option to apply in his portal, but I seen anyone else mention it.

Stats?
I have no special insight on the Honors program but Priority registration is the biggest perk and honors housing. @Zoey2877 can give you some information.
Does anyone know if they send out decisions by school? If someone from a school heard today does that mean all the other kids got waitlisted or rejected?
