Cal Poly SLO Class of 2028 Freshman Discussion Thread

Anyone know if it’s coming out at 6 pst today? I heard that it might

Nothing here for D24 who applied as kinesiology.

May I ask what major?

Statistics, no word yet. Portal says no determination.

Ok, thank you. Do you guys think there will still be acceptances or just waitlist/rejections coming up?

Probably the latter. Same thing happened last year with my S23. Was waitlisted toward the end of March.

did anyone get in for mech engineering?

Yes, several admits for Mechanical Engineering on March 11.

Any idea about Bio? I see a lot of people waiting in Bio.

By the numbers bio is as hard as many engineering majors to get in. Lots of applications very few spots.

I think I read your comment, on either this thread or any UCs ( for the class of 2028) , about how each UC admits whether by college or major or like Pre-business at UCR.
Could I please be tagged on it? I’m trying to find it but cannot.

Where did you of get this data from?

Any updates for those still waiting? Still no news here. Expecting decline.

PM’d you with the UC major admission data since I do not want to derail this SLO discussion.

For the SLO estimated acceptance rates, you take the FTF Apps and FTF Target information for each major linked here: https://content-calpoly-edu.s3.amazonaws.com/ir/1/images/2024-2025%20Cal%20Poly%20Enrollment%20Projections.pdf

The guesstimate for yield is 33% but SLO does not list their actual yield by major. Take the TFT target number multiply by 3 (since they admit more applicants than spots) and divide by the # of TFT apps to get an estimate of an acceptance rate.

For SDSU, they publish the # of applications and admits on this link so you can calculate an admit rate: Applications by Major – Analytic Studies & Institutional Research

What this information does not show is how competitive each major pool is since the GPA/stats are not broken out and listed.

Haven’t heard either. Expecting rejecting though based on previous year trends on notifications .

Still waiting for a decision as a Civil Engineering major. Does anyone know of any Civil Engineering admits?

Stats are 4.88 GPA (4.0 UW) and I have been admitted to UC Berkeley, UCLA, UMichigan, and Illinois among others.

I just want to know so I can make a decision. Cal Poly SLO is SLOW!
