I am starting this discussion in anticipation of SLO Decisions posting shortly.

2023 Timeline: Rare reported admit on April 14, 2023. Few admits reported April 25. Few admits on July 15th and rest were rejections.

Below are several years of Waitlist data.

2023:
Number of qualified applicants offered a place on waiting list: 13176
Number of waitlisted applicants admitted: 193

2022:
Number of qualified applicants offered a place on waiting list: 10233
Number of waitlisted students admitted: 345

2021:
Number of qualified applicants offered a place on waiting list: 9829
Number of waitlisted students admitted: 978

General Waitlist questions:

  1. No specific timeline for waitlist admits. If space opens up before the SIR deadline then students can be pulled from the waitlist.
  2. Residency type and major are not broken out for the waitlist data.
  3. The number of enrolled waitlisted students vs. admitted not listed.
  4. No LOCI’s are accepted since SLO does not consider demonstrated interest.
  5. Waitlist is by invitation only and you can select to decline the waitlist.
  6. You cannot appeal your decision while on the waitlist.

any speculation as to when the waitlists will come out??

SDSU is currently posting waitlist decisions. Last year SLO posted waitlist decisions around 6 PM PST. It could be anytime.

patiently waiting for rejections to be posted, anyone know when they are predicted to come out?

I can see the mood is darkening and I know it’s tough. Like all of you, I wish they could announce all decisions on one day. It really is torture on these poor kids when their friends have been accepted two weeks ago and they have heard nothing themselves. But as @Gumbymom has said many times before, no decision means exactly that. We still have a shot at either acceptance or waitlist! :crossed_fingers: for all of us!

anyone know how many ppl actually get off the waitlist?

It will vary from year to year depending upon how many admitted students enroll by the SIR deadline and how many spots are still available.

Got waitlist notification on portal about 30 mins ago.

Anyone receive this error when trying to submit survey?

The Waitlist Survey is no longer available. Please contact the Office of Admissions with any questions.

My son was waitlisted for stats this morning.
His portal only asks to complete a survey if you do not want to remain on the waitlist.

CSU Capped Weighted GPA: 4.12
Intended major: Business Administration - International Business
Number of a-g courses taken 9-12th: 24.25
Number of UC approved Honors/AP/IB or DE classes: 3 completed, 3 in process, 1 community college class (in intended major) completed
Non-local CA resident

At this point we all knew it was either waitlisted or rejected so this is the better outcome of the two. @Gumbymom stats from prior years are sobering, we certainly aren’t expecting to get off the list but we’ve got our hat in the ring just in case we get lucky.
