We have had at least three come off waitlist from our public school in Oregon. (we typically send like ten kids a year to slo)

Just curious, have all the admits off the waitlist been OOS? Seems like a lot from your school in Oregon alone. Congrats!

My D24 was accepted today around 4 pm for Anthropology & Geography (in state, Los Angeles area). She received an email that her status changed and the acceptance was in her portal

My son got off the waitlist today - Bioresource and Agricultural Engineering. Does any parent (alumni) have any feedback? They are allowing 10 days to decide. He had already committed to UC Davis so he is going to sleep on it as SLO was his top choice. This whole process has been so stressful for the students and the UC waitlist craziness and people shuffling on and off is really something I believe should be reconsidered. Congrats to those who got in in their school of choice and good luck to the rest who are still hopeful!

I’m a parent of a current junior at SLO. She loves it there.
Both are excellent schools. NO bad choices here.
If it matters, UC Davis is much larger with 31,000-32,000 undergraduates and about 10,000 graduate students. SLO is virtually all undergrads with about 21,000-22,000 total students.
Very, very few grad TA’s at SLO, but D21 has one for a lab right now. Otherwise SLO has undergrad LA’s (learning assistants), which D21 is one.
And there’s the location difference, which is up to each student to figure out. We preferred the location near the ocean, where the weather doesn’t get as hot as inland locations.
S24 was waitlisted and is now accepted. He is thrilled but a little conflicted. He was fully committed to Purdue and now will decide between it and Poly.

My D24, in-state, full pay, rural just got off waitlist for environmental mgmt. She will decline offer. She got off UCSB waitlist a few weeks ago and happily picked that.
