Anyone know if business majors got notifications last Friday or still pending?

Yes there have Business majors admitted on Friday.

Hint: you can search this discussion thread by clicking on the Magnifying Glass upper right corner, type in Business as key word, select In this topic or thread and it will search for posts with your keyword.

So should we assume did not get accepted if not notified by last Friday?. (FYI CSU weighted GPA 4.0 and CA resident with 8 AP/Honors classes).

My older son applied and was accepted in social sciences 3 years ago, and we were hoping 2nd child gets in, but I’m not feeling hopeful.

@Gumbymom do you have insights into how extensively CPSLO (and SDSU, UCSB for that matter) look at the applicant’s alternate major? My S25 applied under engineering (to both) but had a business-related back up on his application, and is definitively wanting to major in business now (reflected in other/later OOS applications / acceptances). Just curious whether he will be evaluated under selective engineering, or also business (which I acknowledge can also be fairly selective)? The applicant portal seems to only show the primary major choice, but the original application did have a 2nd choice major entry. Accepted at UCSD econ/business but rejected at SDSU (engineering primary). Worried about implications for CPSLO and possibly UCSB.

I did search but I did not see anything listed. thx

Cal Poly only admits under first major. They do not look at alternate major.

We’re still waiting to hear for AG Systems Management. Son was accepted to SDSU a week after everyone else during their ā€œwaitlist waveā€ so here’s to hoping something similar will happen with SLO!

I’m not sure this is accurate. We’ve had at least one person in this thread admitted with an alternate major.

SLO does occasionally admit to the alternate major and there is one poster’s daughter was admitted on Friday to their alternate major. You usually see SLO admit to the alternate major for Engineering students, if the alternate major is in another college.

This is what SLO states:

At Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (Cal Poly SLO), you can list an alternate major on your application, which can be considered for admission if your first-choice major is unavailable, but there’s no guarantee of admission to the alternate major.

SDSU started this year in allowing students to select an alternate major on the application but how and when they review the alternate is not known.

UCSB will consider an alternate major in the College of Letters and Sciences for Engineering and CCS applicants. Applicants for the College of L&S, their major is not considered during the admission process.

From the website:

At Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (Cal Poly SLO), you can list an alternate major on your application, which can be considered for admission if your first-choice major is unavailable, but there’s no guarantee of admission to the alternate major.

See comment #427, 520, 610 for business admit. I used search button and found them.
