Thats so funny!
Got in for Industrial on Friday
Itâs only 1K less a year than UC Santa Cruz for 2025-2026. And the UCs will let you waive health insurance if you have adequate coverage-the csus wonât let u waive
There is nothing to waive at Cal Poly. They donât offer health insurance.
FYI, itâs not really based on ECs either (just that âhow many hours did you spend on ECsâ type question with a âleadership?â yes/no button), and definitely not based on awards because they donât have those. Itâs pretty much classes/grades and how many hours/week you spent on ECs or work. So itâs âselectiveâ but has to largely be based on factors aside from the studentâs achievement, like balancing by high school and major, and a few other things like whether you are first generation.
Some majors are much more competitive than others. Also, google Cal Poly SLO MCA calculator. They are most likely still using some verision of it.
if anyone hears or talks to admissions please post iâm going crazy over here
The way they handle admission results is ridiculous.
Especially when theyâve had so much time with the applications with very little need for subjective review that takes time and human evaluation - no essays, no ECs, no awards. They must use some sort of formula, why canât they release decisions all at once, and earlier?
And if they release early (e.g.. in November or December) will help them to keep good students (the admitted students may lose the motivation to apply for other schools).
The application is normally due November 30 and this year December 2 so that timeline will not work.
When my kids applied in 2013/2014, decisions started posting in Mid February in-line with most of the impacted campuses but they had 1/2 the number of applicants than they do now but the decisions still posted over several weeks going into March.

Gotta factor in housing cost assuming one can find adequate and affordable housing in Santa Cruz.
And itâs a different town and campus atmosphere than SLO.
Has anybody heard back for Aerospace Engineering yet?
my college counselor heard that more decisions come out this friday
Yes, there has been 2 admits posted on other sites for Aerospace.
Has anyone heard from a Bio major back yet? Also is SLO competitve for Bio?
No.
Yes to both questions. You can search on Biology or Biological and, as I posted above, Biological Sciences has about a 10% acceptance rate. Itâs the 3rd most popular major at SLO.
Havenât heard back yet is it still possible to get in?
