We are in the same boat with DS. Admitted from wl for UCSB and fingers crossed for Cal Poly SLO. It’s so close to decision day and we are checking SLO portal daily!

Daughter accepted off the waitlist last night, 4/28. Pol Sci, from OOS. 3.8 UW in IB diploma. Apparently has until May 8 to accept.

Anyone heard any movement for SLO’s waitlist?
In case you are capturing appeal data for Cal Poly SLO, daughter received an appeal denial within 2 weeks from submitting the appeal (March 31 appeal, April 15 response). She had several very specific reasons included in her appeal but it was not enough for them to change decision. She was applying to Mechanical Engineering, alternate choice Industrial. We know very selective majors.
Fyi, included in the appeal denial was 1 specific stat… “You applied for admission to the major of Mechanical Engineering and competed for admission against 5,669 applicants for the 237 available spaces.” All of this is just FYI for other applicants.

DS has committed to SDSU for Business (Finance) and while we are a 100% comfortable and very excited about that, we were still holding on to that sliver of hope for SLO, mostly to be able to have him within an easier driving distance from home (Bay Area). Found this article from a couple of days ago about SLO 2026 admission cycle and given that his SDSU orientation is exactly 2 weeks away….. I think this is the closure we needed.
