I asked “Hello, have all acceptances for transfers been released?” And got this reply “Good Afternoon. No, we are still in the process of releasing decisions for transfers, which we just started earlier today.”

that’s a relief, did they say if they until what time they would be releasing them today? Or whether they are also releasing waitlists and rejections today?

I am still awaiting decision, but I just wanted to share my stats because I am honestly just really confused right now:

Major: Mechanical Engineering
GPA: 4.00
IGETC Completed: Yes
AS-T: Yes
Pre-reqs/ Required Courses: Completed
Desired Courses: Completed
Golden Four: A, A, A, A
Local: In-State (Orange County)
Work per week: 21+ Hours
More than 25% related to field: Yes
Volunteer per week: 0 Hours
Leadership positions: Yes

Did they really look and this and say no??? I hope this is just a first wave of acceptances with more to follow soon.

I put so much effort into this school in particular. They require so much more than my local UC (UCI), and much of those requirements weren’t even offered at my CC. I am attending 3 CCs this semester and did last semester as well just so I could get the classes that articulated to SLO (The furthest CC being an hour drive away). I’m just lost.

For those who get denied:

You can appeal if you have a “new, serious, and compelling” reason that was not included in your application.
Your appeal cannot regurgitate the same info. on your application since they already evaluated your application and issued a denial.
It must be “new, serious, and compelling” that you think they should know that was not previously included.

You have 15 days to appeal after you were notified of your denial.
Cal Poly will respond with a 2nd decision within 3 weeks after receiving your appeal.

For those who get rejected & don’t meet the criteria to appeal above:

There are multiple people on this thread who got accepted this year after getting rejected & waitlisted last year.

In previous years, people got rejected by Cal Poly, but chose not to go to the other colleges that accepted them. Then they applied to Cal Poly again the next year & got accepted. They took a year off from school & worked full-time.

There’s 1 student who applied to Cal Poly 3 times over 3 years & finally got accepted on the 3rd attempt after 3 years of trying. They changed their major each time but they were similar fields.

Just giving you some ideas to think about from other students’ experiences.
