they never release stuff over weekends from what ive seen
to my knowledge, no, i havenât seen a single thing about ag but i could be wrong
We canât assume nothing will come out this weekend, I mean⊠this is the first year that theyâre later than a certain date or even sent out on FridaysâŠ
Accepted for plant science! So not ag but CAFES
Was this just recently ? Or earlier? LOL it just doesnât make sense how theyâre processing acceptances. It sucks too because I havenât seen anyone get accepted for liberal studiesâŠ
It was around noon with the first wave
I got accepted at 5:15. But instead of Ag. Systems Management, they accepted me under my alternate major: Environmental Earth & Soil Science.
Would it be possible to attend SLO and switch over to the BRAE department? Or would it be easier to switch to Plant Science?
Iâm not familiar with either of those majors, but here are Cal Polyâs requirements for changing majors.
Transfers must complete 1 Quarter at Cal Poly before they can change their major.
But you just take classes for the major youâre going to change to during that 1st Quarter.
Would you clarify:
Did you get accepted at 5:15 pm?
Or thatâs just when you checked?
Iâm trying to determine if 5:15 pm was a 2nd wave or not.
Sounds good! Thank you for the advice.
Here are my stats by the way:
Major: Environmental Earth & Soil Science (For now)
GPA: 3.74
IGETC Completed: Yes
AS-T: No
Pre-reqs/ Required Courses: Completed
Desired Courses: Completed
Golden Four: A, A, A, A
Local: No - In-State/Kern County
Work per week: 20+ Hours
More than 25% related to field: Yes
Volunteer per week: 12 Hours
Leadership positions: Yes
My apologies. That is the time stamp from when I received an email from Cal Poly.
Do you think there will be another wave of acceptances?
For those who got Accepted â
Deadline to commit to Cal Poly is May 1st.
However, if you want Student Housing, the application opens up on April 10 at 12 PM.
You are required to accept Cal Polyâs offer for Admission before you can apply for Student Housing & it takes 1 to 2 days to process.
So, you may want to accept no later than April 8 if you want to apply for Student Housing because it fills up fast.
Cal Poly doesnât cost anything to commit so if youâre waiting on UC decisions, you can always commit, apply for Student Housing, then withdraw your commitment to Cal Poly for free if you decide to go to a UC.
DS is deciding between CalPoly and SDSU. If he accepts Cal Poly (which is where heâs leaning) does that impact SDSU since they are both Cal States? He wants to attend admitted students day but transfer housing would have to be requested before then so I want to make sure he can change his mindâŠ
Itâs really weird that youâre writing these replies as if you work for Cal Poly but refuse to answer any question as to whether youâre affiliated with the university. Just strange
There has only been 1 question about whether Iâm affiliated with Cal Poly & itâs only been by you yesterday. I also saw that you have been causing conflict on the Freshman thread by telling the parents to ârelaxâ and that they need to âbroaden their perspectivesâ as well as arguing with other commenters that they are also âweirdâ just like youâre doing on this thread. You also created your conflict on this thread in the middle of people celebrating their announcements that they were Accepted, which is cruel to them during a very important moment in their lives. So I chose to ignore you since you have not contributed anything of substance to this thread.
When I created this thread, my first message - Message #1 - the very 1st message you should have seen - should have been indicative to you that I am a student at Cal Poly since I listed my stats. Faculty & Administrators donât list their stats.
As a student who has been through the grueling process of transferring to Cal Poly, I have spent the last couple of years on here passing my knowledge that Iâve learned along the way to perspective transfer students since I didnât have anyone like myself.
As we go through life, we should give back to others!
Do you think more acceptances will be coming through? Or do you think itâs only waitlist and denials? We havenât seen any for ag business and weâre still hoping thereâs a possibility. Thanks!
In what way would accepting SLO over SDSU impact SDSU other than there is one less transfer student attending SDSU?
Iâm sorry I wasnât clear. As a transfer he wants to try for on campus housing but he has to accept in order to do that. Since he needs to do it for SLO on April 10 (before admitted students days) for the best chance ideally he would accept. If he changed his mind and decided to go to sdsu after visiting (which he would decide relatively quickly) would accepting SLO mean he canât later accept at SDSU and change his mind? Since they are both cal state does one communicate with the other? I wish housing at slo opened after admitted students day but it doesnât so just trying to cover bases.
