Definitely recommend doing that extra year especially if you were waitlisted I got waitlisted last year and accepted this year!! Goodluck I have also been at Cuesta and slo is a beautiful place!!
Hey, thanks!
For 2024âs (waitlisted) application I had completed all the transfer prerequisite classes and golden 4.
When I didnât get in I took this year to finish up Cuestaâs Associate of Science in Engineering (sadly they do not offer an associate for transfer in engineering) fall semester, and used spring semester to (in progress) complete the CSU IGETC pattern.
Hey, yeah I was in the same boat. Originally I planned to just take the minimum classes required to transfer. After I got waitlisted in 24 I decided to use the extra year to finish my Associates Degree so I could give Cal Poly one more shot.
My daughter got rejected for communications with similar stats What is going on? She got accepted at CSULB though so she is ok. But I am so puzzled! She did her first year from a different 4 year. I wonder if they held it against her.
I was accepted in the first wave on the 28th. My stats:
Major: Materials Engineering
GPA: 3.6
IGETC Completed: Yes
AS-T: Yes
Pre-reqs/ Required Courses: Completed
Desired Courses: 4/6 completed
Golden Four: A, AP Score (4), A, B
Local: No - In-State
Work per week: 21+ Hours
More than 25% related to field: Yes
Volunteer per week: 1-5 Hours
Leadership positions: No
Hi,
Thank you for the info! I was looking into transfer housing and saw that the application requires an initial payment of $500. Iâd like to do as you said: commit for free, apply for housing as soon as possible, and potentially withdraw after UC decisions, but I am worried that would be $500 wasted. Do you know if the money for the housing application would be refunded if I withdraw, or would they keep it regardless?
edit: upon further review of the cancellation policy I am pretty sure the initial payment would be refunded in this case, but I would still like a second opinion ![]()
My son is a waitlisted transfer student, still hoping for good news. Anyone else waitlisted have any news yet?? Is it possible that he might still get accepted before the July 15 deadline or is no news just bad news at this pointâŠ
