I don’t see a class of 29 thread here yet. But it looks like, in reading the 28 thread, by this time last year some people had received emails inviting them to apply to honors college and that decisions rolled out right about now.

I have not seen any decision activity for CSULB but decision dates vary from year to year but normally they start posting Mid-February.

I have moved your question into the New 2029 Discussion thread.

I can’t seem to get into the application status check, it tells me the portal is down.

I checked again and it wasn’t working but seems to be back up now.

S25’s says provisional admission. Is that the same as admitted? Also, the Major is showing Pre-Bus Management. Is there no direct admissions or did he just not get into the direct admit program?

All acceptances are provisional meaning that the student must meet the terms of admission: Graduating HS, completing all in-progress courses with a C or higher and submitting final transcripts.

Pre-Major Information

All pre-majors must complete specific courses and meet specific GPAs to declare their major. These are called [Major Specific Requirements (MSR)]. These courses will be priority for your first and second year at CSULB

lol- my son who got into USC, UNC, Florida, Illinois, Wisconsin but was just waitlisted to CSU Long Beach…

CSU Long Beach like all Cal states gives local in-service area applicants priority for admission plus the CSU’s mainly admit based on Stats so no EC’s, essays or LOR’s so there is no way to compare the admission outcomes due to different admission criteria. Congratulations to your Son and all his great options.
