@Gregmacd ha ha - open the instagram app - search for csun_edu by tapping the magnifying glass at the bottom of the app home page and typing that into the search bar.
when you get to Csun’s insta page that way, you click on the white circle that has CSUN in red letters at the top of their page. If they have an active story, it will show after you do that. Insta stories stay up for 24 hours. Good luck and welcome to Insta!

Ok thanks @CAtransplant ! I’m local but just 10 points over the department eligibility index so I’m kind of sweating it.
@diamondlife What was the department eligibility index? I saw that for last year the overall “Outside CSUN’s local area” EI for impacted majors was 3800 https://www.csun.edu/admissions-records/freshman-impaction , but I didn’t see anything specific by department.
@Gregmacd it’s also 3800 for Cinema and Television Arts. I’m 3810 with the local bump!
I checked my student center on the portal and there’s a “hold” due to an “impacted major”. I’m assuming that it’s not an auto admit then.
@diamondlife where on the portal is the student center? Is it the quick link that says student solar center? Don’t see anything about hold or impacted major in my daughter’s but she’s also not in the local area so maybe they haven’t even gotten that far with her application.
@CAtransplant if you go to the top of the portal page there’s a bar that has 5 different buttons. The middle one says “My Settings”. Click on that and you’ll get a drop down menu. “My Student Center” is towards the bottom. When you click on that it brings you a different page. On the right of the page has holds. Mine says impacted major. When I click on it there’s a date of December 9 so I’m assuming that’s when they got to my application.
@diamondlife I’m impressed that you even found that section of the portal - I think you should be admitted just for that!
Hey guys. A friend and I actually got accepted on the sixteenth to Northridge. But some of my other friends didn’t receive anything at all. Possible rolling admissions?
@GEVMKR: The CSU’s usually start admits with local applicants first and work their way through non-local/OOS and Internationals. Also impacted majors usually hear later than sooner. Semi-rolling admissions so to speak.
@diamondlife I see what you are referring to on https://www.csun.edu/admissions-records/freshman-impaction It also says “The following section describes admission criteria for Fall 2019 impaction. Please check back for Fall 2020 criteria in late January 2020.” So, I’m guessing we’ll know by next Friday?
@Gumbymom do you have any idea how much later for impacted majors?
