@diamondlife: I cannot say how much longer for impacted majors. It all depends upon how fast CSUN can review the applicants and determine their EI thresholds for the impacted majors.
Looks like the portal is down this AM. My D is a Pre-Finance, OOA, in-coming Freshman. Fingers crossed. She wants to go here. GPA 3.4 SAT 1190.
are you local? international? US? what GPA and SAT did you apply with?
@diamondlife looks like CSUN won’t update their EI until mid-February
I noticed there is another portal maintenance tonight which may mean more decisions tomorrow. At least that is what I am hoping!
DS was notified of acceptance on 1/16.
Deaf Studies, in-state, but not local
@stillwaiting23 Congrats! Was the notification by regular mail, email, portal, etc.?
the CSUN page now states “We expect Fall 2020 criteria to be available on or before March 1, 2020”, so they pushed it back again from Feb 15th
@Gregmacd That really stinks! Was hoping my D20 would hear something soon since she only applied to Cal States and UCs. Not having any acceptances yet is feeling pretty meh.
@MommaCat
I think she’ll hear much sooner than March 1st. My guess is that CSUN is delaying updating the required EI for admission until March 1st, so the students learn before the general public.
Last year Fresno State updated the required EI in January, before students were notified. I think at least some people probably complained that the general public shouldn’t know before the student. Anyhow, Fresno state won’t announce the updated EI this year until April 1st.
It is such a slow process, my daughter pretty much moves ahead with other colleges.
Haven’t Heard!

She received an email
when will they reveal admission status for incoming freshman’s?
My guess is some time before March 1st, since they will release the impaction information then. The CSUN web site states:
“Fall 2019 Admission Criteria for First-Time Freshmen (last year)
The following section describes admission criteria for Fall 2019 impaction. We expect Fall 2020 criteria to be available on or before March 1, 2020.”
i’m scared to call the admission office to find out about the status for tier 2. can somebody else call them, it’ll mean a lot! my son is getting very anxious and really wants to hear from them
@ user_503280, I called admission office, and they said that we won’t be able to hear the decision until they finish the review of all applications., which puts it around March or April. It is still a long way to go
Checked the portal and saw a hold for Not Anymore training. DS completed it last night and received an acceptance email this morning. Local, Impacted Major, 3.89 GPA, 1200 SAT.
Accepted for film!
@diamondlife Congratulations on your acceptance! Are you local?
