What exactly is this Banner Astrology? In the portal currently there is a Banner “Current Application Status: Awaiting Decision” if this Banner disappears before the decision release, does it mean the student rejected? If the banner stays until the decision release does it mean the student will be accepted? I’m not sure if this makes any sense.
From last year’s thread, the banner could possibly disappear last min too. But if it stays could mean waitlist/accepted. In any case we will find out soon.
If it stays until the end, last year-for the two it did-they were accepted. Previous year, they were accepted or waitlisted. If the banner disappeared at any time before the “time” they were rejected.
Everyone still have the banner now right? When do banners start dissapearing?
Honestly hope they patched it, I don’t want to spend tomorrow dooming about the banner

Mine is still there. Any instance of the banner disappearing and the person still being accepted?
Mine just disappeared, which checks out, because I’m a good student but not Caltech quality. I’ll update on whether I get in or not tomorrow, I suppose.
Anyone has drop down menu under upload your unofficial transcripts?
D25 has is with Waitlist update as the only option.
Oh no, I just found a waitlist update in my file upload, is this a bad signal? Does everyone have this or does this indicate that I might not be getting in and got waitlisted

I don’t have my banner and I don’t have the ability to upload my transcripts/access the drop down menu at all, so I’m assuming that no banner = rejected and waitlist update = waitlisted at this point.
I was checking the 2028 and 2027 threads, I haven’t found anyone with this “waitlist update” on their application. Perhaps it’s a signal that we got waitlisted.

The year before, 47 students were accepted off the waitlist, which still is around a 10% acceptance rate. The best we can do for now is to provide the admissions office with an update letter on any new developments over the past semester, or a new letter of rec which explains your interest in STEM. New updates/LORs must be sent in by Monday, April 15th.”

I am thinking the same. Has anyone ever gotten off the waitlist? At this point, for us waitlist is equal to rejection. Dreading tomorrow…
are we talking about the banner at the top or the “Awaiting Decision” banner?
Honestly, the fact that you have a banner is good news. My son’s banner is gone, as it was for all others the last 2 years who got rejected. I highly doubt the waitlist option is any indication of waitlist. That is too obvious, I think. Best of luck.
