I think I got rejected but I really had hopes, I am doing research with a professor at Caltech who also wrote my rec.
Me too, my rec probably helped most.
My banner still there, no waitlist, but I didnāt get the email so far.
4.0/4.83, 1580, 2 published cs research papers, research at local uni, lots of community service, multiple leadership positions (tho only one is STEM-related), & 2 times math prize qual
If I do get in (fingers crossed) I think itās because I submitted a decent art portfolio (I spent ~8h/w in all of HS on art) & filled that institutional priority
I have the banner that says āCurrent Application Status: Awaiting Decision,ā no waitlist option, but the banner with the beaver sipping coffee is gone. I also got the welcome email from āugadmits@caltech.eduā. Can someone tell me what this means?

I feel my main backfire is not submitting a portfolio nor research. At this point, Iām likely waitlisted. I really didnāt have time to prepare a portfolio because my school is very strict on mid year grades. My awards are also too common for Caltech, USAMO Bronze, USAJMO Honor, ISEF Finalist, 1580 (super scored, 1550 single highest) + 4.0 UW, NMSF, didnāt publish any research, no summer program, no portfolio + research submission 
I submitted my 7 on the AIME LOL, Iām sure you will get in somewhere great (and Iām still here feeling super silly for taking that email as an accept)

And the portal has no waitlist option:

I had the banner and waitlist option before. Now when I check, I only have the banner, no waitlist dropdown. Anyone else?

Everything in the portal just got back, I guess they realized. Still no gmail
