Camps with a lodge and cabins for a weekend wedding?

Loved reading the various wedding threads. Looking for some advice on specific venues in NY, MD, VA, WVA ,PA, OH that have cabins for guests and a lodge or larger building for a reception with dinner and dancing. Thanks. Just a concept right now so I don’t have too many details.

Look in the Hocking Hills area of Ohio. Cabins galore - my daughter stayed at one earlier this spring that was very nice and quite reasonable - I’m not certain about what they would have for a wedding/reception location but I bet there is something! Hocking Hills is gorgeous - so unlike most of Ohio (meaning different).

Found the website D rented from - I’d have to ask her which one she rented , but it had a screened in nice porch, clean and very updated but still cottagy inside - think there was a hot tub too.

They all sizes, themes, etc - one is even a caboose!!!

Funny I was just browsing the Hocking Hills pages. The idea is to have some bonding/fun for the guests and then the actual ceremony/reception at the same location. The whole affair will be casual with a capital C. Thanks!

What about this site in NY state?
[Weddings at West Branch Resort Hancock, NY](http://www.westbranchresort.com/weddings.html)
I have not yet been there myself but family has and I will be attending a reunion there this summer.

Letchworth State Park (western New York)is beautiful. We had a family reunion there quite a while ago; each family rented a cabin. Weddings can be held there at Glen Iris Inn.

This was one of the venues S & DIL considered:
[Montgomery Parks: Event Centers - Rockwood Manor](Rockwood Manor Retreats & Events - Montgomery Parks)
They have guest rooms in the mansion plus cabins w/bunks. Gorgeous shaded area for an outdoor ceremony. S & DIL loved the venue, were not as thrilled with the mansion for the wedding/reception in terms of what they wanted. (They would not allow us to self-cater.) I have pics if you want.

The Golden Lamb buttery in Brooklyn, Connecticut. Not a state you listed, but check it out. S1 was best man at a wedding there a few weeks ago.

My brother got married here in 1993, on the shores of Sebago Lake in Mane:

Oops, just saw your list of states, so this doesn’t qualify, but, just in case others are looking…

My daughter was in a wedding this summer at a place that fits your description. How many people? This place doesn’t have a lot cabins.

These ideas are exactly what I am looking for  I guess I will be on the internet all day. I so appreciate people taking the time to share. Google searches are wonderful but cannot compete with the feedback on this site. Keep the ideas coming!

Again, not on your list, but my D attended a wedding in MA a couple years ago with that exact kind of setting. I saw pics of the lodge where wedding and reception were, and it was lovely. Lots of games in the lake, after-party bonfire, etc. I can ask her for the name/location. (again, I know it’s not one of the listed states, but just in case…)

Hope Cabins is PERFECT. We do not have specific numbers but unfortunately we would probably need triple the number of cabins. The concept is spot on…cabins, banquet hall, outdoor activities and if the owners are half as nice in person than it seems like a delightful group to work with.

Would love the name of the lodge in MA. Thanks for the help!

Migis Lodge in Maine…don’t want to sound like a teenager but OMG!

Early on we did research the state parks in MD and found some lovely options, such as Rockwood Manor. Need to go back to that binder."

Westbranch and Letchworth also look promising. I actually need more than 24 hours in a day. Will need to budget my internet time or I wil look up and 1/2 the day will be gone :(

Hunter Mountain in NY is a wonderful place for a wedding. They have a lodge with hotel rooms, a platform on the side of the mountain for weddings, a spa, pool, chairlift, zip lines, rock wall. There are a couple of restaurants. The town is quaint, with a number of B&B’s as well as the following house:

Bluejay–D doesn’t rmember the name of the lodge in MA (I can try to track down the friend and get it.) however, she said that though the lodge was lovely, the “cabins” were more like tents with roofs, with really harsh beds, and common showers with fairly primitive conditions. Might not be what you want.
