Now I’ve also decided to apply to Cornell, mainly because of its great engineering program and generous financial aid. And seeing that Cornell isn’t really as selective as schools like Harvard or MIT, I was hoping for something a little more specific than “it’s a reach for everyone.” I know that Cornell is still an Ivy and one of the best schools in the nation, but do I have a realistic shot there?</p>
<p>In short: yes, you have a more than realistic chance there. I’d be surprised if you weren’t accepted (seeing that it’s quite a selective school, but not as selective as, say, Tufts, Northwestern, or Duke, all non-Ivies).</p>
